MARIANA PAJON Medellín, Colombia, October 10th, 1991 Height 5ft 2 in. “My dream is individual, I'm alone at the starting point, I'm on the podium by myself, but behind me there are THE TEAM" Mariana Pajon is a Colombian BMX rider. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and BMX World Champion. She also is an Olimpic silver medalist. She won her first national title at age of 5 and her first world title at 9. She is the winner of 14 world championships, 2 national championships in the United States, 9 Latin American Championships and 10 Pan American championships. When his brother was 12, he also practiced BMX , but had a very bad accident in a race and he was never able to run again. He is her idol and because of him she is what she is in her sports career. She said: "My brother was going to be the best BMX rider in the whole world, he couldn’t, so I did all this in his honor." Her achievements in BMX have earned her the nickname "Queen of BMX.
