Course Description: The course is designed to instill the basic concepts strategy and its applications to business situations among the participating students. The focus will be on instilling strategic thinking as a skill among the participants with special focus on SME and family business situations. The course would engage hands on pedagogy to relate the real-life exposure of the participants to SME and family business situations to the theoretical aspects generally described in the text- books. With this in view, each module of the course content is linked to specific handson assignment on SME/Family Business situations. The evaluation methodology proposed envisaged distributed evaluation so that continuous learning is encouraged. On the whole the course proposes to provide experiential learning to the participants. Familiarize students to the basic concepts of strategy as relevant to the SMEs Impart skill in o analyzing business situations strategically o formulating strategies appropriate to the business situations o formulating strategy-execution-plans o Evaluate performance of the organization comprehensively Course Outcomes: On successful completion of the course, student will be able to: CO1 – Analyze any given business situation, generate alternate strategic-options. CO2 – Formulate strategic-plans for a given business situation and recommend a choice. CO3 – Formulate execution-plans for any given business strategic situation.
