EXPERIMENT – 1
INTRODUCTION TO BASIC LABORATORY EQUIPMENT & ELECTRONIC
COMPONENTS
Experiment Objectives :(a) To learn using basic laboratory equipment like Function Generator, Cathode Ray
Oscilloscope, Multi-meter and Breadboard.
(b) To identify and construct simple circuits using basic electronic components like resistor,
diode, capacitor, transistor etc.
(c) To learn how to make measurements of voltage, time-period using an oscilloscope.
Experiment Problems :1.
Explain the functioning of a Cathode Ray Oscilloscope ( CRO) with a labeled diagram.
Describe its internal components in brief. ( Do handwritten work and save it properly, scan it)

Draw neatly, following waveform ( Do handwritten work and save it properly, scan it)
(a) Square Waveform
(b) Sine Waveform
(c) Triangular Waveform
(d) Ramp Waveform

Generate a sinusoidal waveform with frequency and amplitude of you choice using the tool
maintained at link (http://eleceng.dit.ie/dsp/elab/ ). Take screen shot of the same. Describe the signal
you generated and also write the step you did to achieve your results

also write the step you did to achieve your results. (optional)

EXPERIMENT – 2
REGULATED DC POWER SUPPLY
Experiment Objectives :(a) To learn basic components of a regulated DC Power Supply
(b) To construct a half wave rectifier circuit and display its waveform on CRO
(c) To construct a full wave rectifier circuit and display its waveform on CRO.
