BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5–24.9
Overweight = 25–29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
Interpreting Weight:
A convenient way to interpret weight is to determine body mass index (BMI). BMI is calculated by
dividing the weight in kilo-grams by the square of the height in meters. This calculation yields a value
that can be interpreted without further reference to height.
