This process may use a lot of runtime. Other Terms WRP1 WRP1R RWRPLPRO RWRPLRRP ISR_APPL_RRPL performance runtime data volume Reason and Prerequisites You use the replenishment planning via transaction WRP1 (program RWRPLPRO), or you use or plan to use replenishment planning via transaction WRP1R (program RWRPLRRP) for sites (stores or distribution centers). Solution With SP07 for ERP 6.0 EHP7 (ERP 6.17), rapid replenishment planning is available as a runtime-optimized alternative for replenishment planning via transaction WRP1 (program RWRPLPRO). With S/4HANA OP 1610, rapid replenishment planning (WRP1R) is available as a compatibility product. Classic replenishment planning (WRP1) cannot be used on S/4HANA. The attached document contains detailed information about the rapid replenishment planning: • • • • • • • Use Calculation logic Differences to classic replenishment planning Intervention options Potential for optimization Technical background Special features for SAP S/4HANA Additional optimizations for the runtime of the rapid replenishment planning on SAP S/4HANA are available via the following SAP Notes (already contained in versions higher than the ones specified): • • • • • • 2578894 (for S4CORE 101 up to SP03, S4CORE 102 up to SP01) 2592627 (for S4CORE 101 up to SP03, S4CORE 102 up to SP01) 2592931 (for S4CORE 101 up to SP03, S4CORE 102 up to SP01) 2611658 (for S4CORE 101 up to SP03, S4CORE 102 up to SP01) 2652174 (for S4CORE 101 up to SP05, S4CORE 102 up to SP03, S4CORE 103 SP00) 2842771 (for S4CORE 101 up to SP07, S4CORE 102 up to SP05, S4CORE 103 up to SP03, S4CORE © 2023 SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. All rights reserved 1 of 4 2023-02-22 2051280 104 SP00) Additional recommendations for optimizing the runtime of the rapid replenishment planning: • Take advantage of the option for automatic parallelization within a replenishment run for simple and efficient load distribution to parallel processes (available with SAP Note 2617575 for SAP_APPL 617 up to SP16, SAP_APPL 618 up to SP10, S4CORE 101 up to SP04, S4CORE 102 up to SP02). The option for parallel processing must be activated in customizing (path: "Materials Management –> Consumption-Based Planning –> Replenishment Control –> General Control"). For more information about the automatic parallel processing, see the documentation of the relevant tax code in the IMG activity. • Deactivating the (automatic) delta merge for the tables WRRP_CTRL, WRRP_PARAMSET and WRRP_DOC_TYPE can have a positive and stabilizing effect on the runtime, especially with massive parallel processing and high data volumes. The table is used to store temporary data only during replenishment planning, and the replenishment run triggers an explicit delta merge to the table at suitable points so that an automatic merge is not required. For more information about the deactivation of the delta merge for a table, see SAP Note 2057046. • The runtime of the CDS views used depends, among other things, on the contents of the tables read and the specific selection criteria used. Depending on this, different access strategies may lead to a better runtime. The standard access strategy for reading certain data has good runtimes in the majority of cases. However, there may also be situations where a different access strategy results in an improved runtime. You can use a BAdI to adjust the access strategy (available with SAP Note 2652174, see above). For more information, refer to the documentation of the BAdI and its methods (IMG path: "Materials Management –> Consumption-Based Planning –> Replenishment Control –> BAdI: Strategies for Data Access"). With SP08 for ERP 6.0 EHP7 (ERP 6.17), you can also use the rapid replenishment planning with other databases than SAP HANA that are generally supported by SAP Business Suite ERP 6.0 .
