PROGRAM DESIGN Project L.E.A.R.N. Literacy Enrichment Activity and Review for the Needy RATIONALE: Learning is life. According to John Dewey, learning is best taught through actions. In like manners, Social Constructivism emphasizes that learning is improved by sharing and collaborating. However, how can this be possible if there are learners who cannot extend their learning time through tutorials and enrichment activities outside the classroom and school because they are financially challenges. With the setback in education due to COVID-19 pandemic, data showed, as of March 2020, 89% of the world’s student population missed opportunities of learning inside the school with standard curriculum. Now that the society is slowly recovering in the detrimental impact of the pandemic, students are more challenged than ever with a lot of backlogs and grey areas in learning. In the Philippines, many youths in school are capable and with high academic potentials yet underprivileged in terms of finances. In a sad reality, only those with parents who can afford in life can attend outside school learning enrichment programs. Project L.E.A.R.N (Literacy Enrichment Activity and Review for the Needy) is a program designed for the academically exceptional learners but underprivileged. PROBLEM STATEMENT: The Purok Council of Purok Sulatre, Barangay Zone 3, has yet to formulate an educational and social reform among its homeowners children and nearby purok’s children who wish to avail granting that these children are academically exceptional yet underprivileged. PROPOSE SOLUTION: Project L.E.A.R.N. will be the core solution to provide access to identified recipients within Purok Sulatre and near-by Purok. OBJECTIVES: PROGRAM MATRIX: ACTION PLAN:
