CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION This chapter explains the Event Booking System, the benefit of converting the traditional old system to computerized system and contain features like: Background of the study, statement of the problem, Aim and Objectives, significance of the study, scope and limitation of the study. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of large- or small-scale events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, concerts, or conventions. This system will be accessible for all users. The system will mainly focus on booking social events like wedding, birthday etc. The system will be developed using PHP and back end will be managed in SQL database. The system will have easy and feasible GUI for all type of users. The last few years have seen a rapid growth in the event management industry. In this study we present a web application to make it easier for a layman to plan and book an event in a hassle-free manner. This application will assist him/her in planning a successful and fun event. The system allows users to register on the application for an event. This proposed to be a web application. The project provides most of the basic functionality required for an event type e.g. [marriage, Dance Show birthday party, etc.], the system then allows the user to select date and time of event, place and the event equipment. All the data is logged in the database and the user is given a receipt number for his booking. The data is then sent to administrator (website owner) and they may interact with the client as per his requirement.(Pasi et al., 2018) PROBLEM STATEMENT Now a day’s, the events such as festivals, wedding etc. have become a core part of life which has resulted in event planning and Management Company to rise. With the customers and events increasing at larger rate, it is difficult to manage using traditional system using spreadsheets, traditional database and more. In order to overcome the drawbacks of traditional Event Managing System, a new Smart Event Management System has been introduced which uses the modern technology of .Net Framework for managing various tasks and planning for employees, customer, location, transport and more. With the help of this technology, the distance between customer and management team has reduced with the Smart Web access. AIM AND OBJECTIVES Aim The aim of the project is to develop a web application that focus on Helping Individual in booking an event centers at the comfort of their homes. Objectives The study is focused on delivering the following objectives: 1. To study the existing Booking process. 2. To automate the Booking process. 3. To allow Registration of event center. 4. To allow viewing different Food. 5. To allow booking Event center. SCOPE AND LIMITATION The Application is open to public. Anyone who want to view or book event hall can have access to it. The Application does not include payment process. The application does not include decorators and event planning. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY The need for developing this system is because with the ever-increasing popularity of computers, Android smart phones, iPhone, businesses are using this new age technology to gain huge benefits. Many app developers have created booking apps that allow customers to book for event easily and quickly from their mobile phone or computer. Due to this facility it has become convenient for the customers to book event from wherever they are. On the other hand, it has become more profitable for the events owners as it increases the booking drastically. This is one of the best ways in which the event centers can also tap their social media audiences and book their favorite. Another thing which has been observed from the research is that, people usually reserve more while booking online, so the right time has occurred when businesses need to fetch the benefits of online booking system for event center. It does not only give increase number of loyal customers, but also escalates presence online. CHAPTER TWO LITERATURE REVIEW INTRODUCTION This chapter will look at the review of the existing literature on Event booking system, the review of the manual system as well as the review of some related work for the project. The main objective is to emphasize the issues and usefulness to the completion of the study. RELATED WORK (Pandowo et al., 2021) design and build a booking queue application Android based with SQL server database. The system was design for SOOSOO Restaurant in carrying transaction activities for food, Ice cream and beverages shopping. The system was designed using use case, sequence and activity diagram. A survey was designed by (Investigating the Possibility of Implementing an Online Marriage Halls Booking System in Saudi Arabia, n.d.) to investigate the possibility of developing an ecommerce platform that would be able to connect the marriage halls services to their consumers online, and will help in maintaining an online relationship. The study aims at investigating the development and role of e-commerce platform to the business owners of hall management companies KSA and their Saudi consumers. (Chandan et al., n.d.)developed an Android Application that can be used by customer to book the desired table and menu of their choice from a restaurant as per their convenience. The system was analyses and design using use case and sequence diagram. (Bulla et al., n.d.) developed a web portal that allows user to book conference rooms across multiple departments or ministries. It is Web/Intranet based System, available from any workstation through a Browser. It is Simple to follow, which has webbased options. It is going to provide flexible repetitive bookings. Authentication with the existing user database. A survey was designed by (Abdullah et al., 2012) to measure the user acceptance towards the new online booking system (OBS) for the meeting and seminar halls in the Graduate Studies of Sana’a University. TRA and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) for indicating the user satisfaction were also used to perceive the user acceptance level towards the developed system. (Meshram et al., n.d 2019.) developed web portal for searching venues. This web portal will have used to check the availability of venues so we don’t have to go and visit the place. all the information related to the individual hall will be stored in the database. the most important characteristics of the given system is to manage details like payment, customer booking and hall. (PV et al., 2014) Developed a system that manages the ticket booking process of a multiplex, providing an interface to the user to book movie tickets in an easier way. At the front end we have used PHP and at the back end My SQL server. Next, the strength of the proposed solution will be combining the strength of each reviewed existing system. Proposed solution is provided to solve the limitation and weaknesses of the existing system. The main objective is to emphasize the issues and usefulness to the completion of the study.
