Voluntary response – you make a conscious decision to carry out a particular action therefore it stars
with the brain. Voluntary actions are slower
Involuntary response – doesn’t involve the brain as the coordinator and you are not aware you have
completed it until after you have carried it out. These are usually essential to basic survival, and are
rapid, whereas voluntary takes longer as we consider what the response might be.
