Goal and Participatory Action Plan
Goal
The first plan being is that creative informative advocacy videos and infographic about Republic
Act No. 8485 or known as the ‘Animal Welfare Act of 1998’ and stress that anyone who tortures
or abuses animal is a violation to the law and has a pertinent amount of jail time and penalty.
This is important because there are still people who are not aware of the existing law and may be
prone to further endangerment of the animal and the owner themselves.
The second plan is to conduct a regional seminar that strictly tackles the seriousness of abuse to
animals. This seminar shall be done through Zoom and shall be posted on the initiative’s page for
people to see and view for themselves. The regional seminars are executed by the volunteers and
speakers that are one for prevailing the animals’ right to live and not be abused.
Participatory Action Plan
There will be barangay reports and public advisory announcements to the public that shall utilize
the given hotlines such as: Bureau
of Animal Industry - Animal Welfare
Division (BAI-AWD) - tel. # (02) 926-1522 or the National
Emergency Hotline - 911. These contacts shall be given so the
people could report the animal abuse that they have seen;
Therefore, authorities and veterinarians could be alerted and
respond to the said abuse—prompting an action, legally and
medically.
