 This course provides a fundamental knowledge
about:
Typical power electronics devices such as Diode,
Thyristor, Triac, GTO, BJT, FET, IGBT
Common power electronics converters
Power electronics systems & their applications.

BRIEF COURSE CONTENT
 The course also provides analytic skills to
analyze circuit operation and evaluate system
performance.
 Besides, the course provides synthesis skills to
design & select devices for power electronics
converters.

The course will cover the following contents:
Introduce to power electronics devices, concepts.
Single-phase/three-phase, half-wave/full-wave,
uncontrolled/controlled rectifiers.

BRIEF COURSE CONTENT
Single-phase/three-phase AC to AC converters.
DC-DC converters (step-down/step-up),
transformer models (forward, flyback, half-bridge,
full-bridge).
Single-phase/three-phase, voltage-source/currentsource inverters; Sine PWM & Space vector PWM
techniques; and frequency converters.
