In daily life, we are continually told "act like a lady", "be like a man"
and "boys will be boys", but when have such things of gender
justified the reasons for the molestation and criticism we place
upon each other ?
Sexism is a major issue all over the world and it is not just towards
one gender, it is towards all genders. The way men are socially
expected to behave, such as never showing emotion, being
assertive and strong…
Though sexism does effect men, it mostly effects women. Women
haven’t always had the same privileges and rights as men, they
weren’t allowed to vote, could not join the military, had little job
opportunities, and rarely had a college education. Whereas, men
typically were able to join the military, were allowed to vote, own
property, have jobs, and usually were able to obtain a college
education. It was commonly believed that women should remain in
their homes, to raise the children and take care of their home and
husband. While men should be at work to pay the bills, and put
food on the table. Different countries have taken different steps to
advance women’s rights, and have made many great changes.
There are some men who do not believe in sexism, they believe
that women have no rights and that feminists do not exist There
are many opinions about sexism, and each individual is entitled to
their own.
In my opinion sexism should be stopped immediately
organizations can solve this social issue by paying women the
same wages as their male counterparts and providing a positive
work environment for both genders. To end sexism, both genders
must be treated equally to ensure a cohesive society.
