Name: Marc Eliezer R. Pastores Program: Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting Date of Submission: February 20, 2023 JOURNAL NO. 3 (SAMBUHAY) During my internship, there are instances that I and/or we encounter difficult clients with unreasonable attitudes. Likewise in campus, I’m also encountering students who are difficult to handle. But I always believe in the saying “a simple act of kindness creates an endless ripple”. I know I can effectively handle these people by responding to their needs according to my capabilities, together with humility and kindness. Even if I know their attitudes are inappropriate, I have to fulfill my duty as an intern and also as a good student leader. Whenever I encounter these kind of personalities, I keep myself proper and deal with them in a nice way. Even if I feel a sort of disappointment or criticism inside, I won’t let myself express these emotions outside. I do not play favorites when dealing with people because I know that everyone is unique and everyone has something to offer. I always do my best to understand people – why they act like that or where do these attitudes are coming from? I don’t know what’s someone is going through in life so I always choose to be kind and myself in extending help. I read somewhere that people with unnecessary behavior is going through with something bad or heavy. A lot of my friends have known me for being a perfectionist. Honestly, I do not and I will not tolerate a friend violating rules. But of course, I have my own consideration. Sometimes, violating rules and policies can be an accident or by choice. If my friend violates a rule by accident, I will let him recognize his mistake and do something to make it right. But if my friend violates a rule by choice, I will certainly ask him to do it right and apologize to the people concerned with the situation. Personally, I do support and exercise rules and policies both public and private because I have a dignity and reputation to keep and these are important to me. Being a student in a catholic school and a child born in a religious family, I will uphold to my principles forever and be kind everyday if possible. My God-given talents and skills do not just benefit me. I will share it to anybody as long as I am capable of doing things they ask me. In my chosen field, accounting, I am not knowledgeable enough about accounting but I am always willing to learn. Along with learning and practicing accounting, I am sharing to people these learnings I acquire. In both internship and campus experiences, it is my pleasure that I was able to help people and express myself by extending my help to them. Being part of sambuhay, my life doesn’t only revolve in me but also around people with essential part of my growth and development.
