In the ALE-5100 series, the oval lens holder is changed.
2. Details
2-1 Change of lens holder: The lens holder is changed to prevent the glass lens from being broken.

• Because the lens holder is changed, the specification is changed as shown below. Please understand it.
Minimum edging vertical width when using the oval cup: 18mm → 19mm (flat edging)
2-2 Change of the standard clamp pressure value
• Because the lens holder is changed, the standard clamp pressure value is changed.
In principle, when the conventional oval lens holder is changed to the new oval lens holder U, the clamp
pressure at the time is regarded as the new standard clamp pressure (because the new standard clamp
pressure is almost the same as the clamp pressure with the conventional lens holder). If the clamp
pressure is already adjusted to the conventional standard value while the conventional oval lens holder is
used, it is not necessary to adjust the clamp pressure when changing the lens holder to the new oval lens
holder U. However, when you can use a load cell, which enables you to check the pressure, it is
recommended to check whether the clamp pressure meets the new standard value when changing to the
new oval lens holder U.

4. Caution when edging the waterproof-coated lens
When edging a slippery lens such as a waterproof-coated lens, please use the mis-centering preventive film
recommended by the lens makers.
