Ethan Stoots 9/23/22 In Animal Farm, The House of Burgesses, and the beliefs of French philosopher Montesquieu, there are some similarities in things all of them have. One of the similarities just between montesquieu and the house of burgesses is that Montesquieu believed there should be multiple groups that are in power and the house of burgesses was based on multiple groups of people in power to talk about the problems and fix them together. A similarity between Montesquieu and the seven commandments of animal farm is how both of them in some way limit power like how Montesquieu believed that power should be limited by multiple groups signing off on it and the way the seven commandments limit power is by setting rules for animals to not get a lot of power. The way that the seven commandments and the house of burgesses are similar is because they both make laws because the animal farm seven commandments has rules laid out for the animals to follow and the house of burgesses made rules as well with all the people coming together to improve, add, or taking them away. And the way that all of them have something in common is that they all have something to do with limited power because Montesquieu believed in separation of powers which is to limit power, the seven commandments limit power by setting rules and laws out, and the house of burgesses limits power because of the separation of powers.
