INSTRUCTIONAL
DESIGN
WHAT IS IT?
Lesson Topic:
Polygon
Subject Area:
Level of Learners:
Duration:
Learning Outcomes:
Geometry
Junior High (Grade 7)
One Hour Lesson
 Demonstrate
understanding of key
concepts of shapes,
sizes, and geometric
relationship.
 Analyze and
investigate the
different kinds of
triangles,
quadrilaterals, convex
polygon and circles.
 Define and illustrate a
convex polygon;
Identify the different
classification of a
polygon; Solve
problems of polygons
involving diagonals;
and Integrate
participation and
appreciation.
Books, Task cards, Cartolina,
Tarpapel and Projector.
Materials/Technology Tools:
Learning Activities:

The teacher will
provide strips of
papers to the students
and what they are
EXPLAIN THE REASON
FOR THE DECISION IN
RELATION TO THE
ASSURE MODEL
The topic is suitable for the
students. They have the prior
knowledge in line segments.
It is very important to decide
for the right and proper set of
materials to foster learning
amongst the learner.
The teacher will provide
activities that needs the
participation of the students.
Assessment Activities:
going to do is find
their partner and post
their answer to the
board.
 The teacher will
provide a polygon
(hexagon) and the
students will
determine the sides
and diagonals that can
be formed.
The teacher will provide a
sets of polygon and the
students will try to determine
whether the given figure is a
polygon or not; classify each
figure as a convex polygon or
non-convex polygon and
lastly; the students will be
give a certain polygon (12sided polygon) and they will
determine the number of
diagonals the can be drawn
using the formula in solving
the diagonals of a polygon.
It is very important to provide
proper assessment tools to
measures the students
understanding.
