LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
I am pleased to recommend Saumya Raj for the Master’s program in the Computer Science
Department at the University of XXX. Saumya is working as Senior Software Engineer at
Samsung Research and Development Bangalore for more than two years. I have known her
throughout her tenure in my capacity as Reporting Manager. Her communication skills,
enthusiasm, coding, and computer programming knowledge have made it evident that Saumya is
a promising employee. In recognition of her skills, she has been assigned the position of Culture
Champion Representative in an 11-member team. Furthermore, her propensity for multitasking,
problem-solving ability, and attention to detail are unquestionably outstanding traits.
Saumya has played several important roles in the organization, which have brought her expertise
to the fore. She completed her internship program of 6 months (in the final year) in the Samsung
R&D department. In the technical field, she is well-versed with C++ and Python programming
languages. She has proven her expertise in algorithms, data structure, operating systems, Deep
Learning, Machine Learning, Object-Oriented Programming, and Computer Networks. Her
contribution to the squad is exemplary. She has a knack of grasping fresh ideas and developing
characteristics. She took on writing local scripts and setting up a local workspace for checking
SAM Score and Code Coverage. When it became a compulsory quality check for all releases,
she accepted the responsibility of making the entire code free of warnings on all platforms.
Diligent and organized, Saumya quickly learned software and technology systems that were
unfamiliar to her when she started her job. She cleared the Software Competency Advanced Test,
which demonstrated her excellent programming skills. Her enthusiasm is not a sudden
phenomenon but carefully nurtured over a period of time through her participation in different
events. She was assigned to develop a ROBOT BT Framework for Protocol Testing of Data
Packets for the ODP DU platform, which was crucial for internal code quality testing. She was in
charge of the entire project and established the structure as a whole.
Her excellent organizational and communication skills, and decision-making ability contributed
to the success of those events. Initially, when remote working became the new-normal due to the
Covid pandemic, she had some difficulty connecting with global counterparts remotely and
transferring knowledge, but she recognized this as a bottleneck and quickly resolved it.
Thereafter, she could handle all concerns and manage and work remotely.
Apart from usual office responsibilities, Saumya took pride in participating in training activities
and employee engagement programs. She is the team's Cultural 20-20 Champion/Representative,
working at the organizational level as a liaison between the management and employees. In that
role, she promotes innovative cultural practices within the team. I can confidently assert that her
interests in event management, social and extracurricular activities, and skill development will
help her achieve success in her higher studies.
