Clash of ethics and negative conflicts
of interest
• Ethical conflicts arise when individuals are confronted with a
collision between general belief systems about morality, ethics or
justice and their own personal situations. Right and wrong are not
always perfectly clear, and some situations involve choosing
between two “evils,” where, perhaps, the ethical decision might
result in personal or social injury or where an individual stands to
gain from an unethical decision. Such conflicts could take place at
the individual, professional, or societal level.
• Conflict of InterestA conflict of interest arises when what is in a
person’s best interest is not in the best interest of another person
or organization to which that individual owes loyalty.
• For example, an employee may simultaneously help himself but
hurt his employer by taking a bribe to purchase inferior goods for
his company’s use.
Conclusion
• Everyone should be educated with ethics so that a
person can solve any problem in ethical way and avoid
conflicts. These ethics can play a major role in decision
making process what I feel us right ethical behavior can
lead us in a right way and avoid conflicts with the fellow
mates.
• Engineering Ethics need to be integrated throughout the
engineering process and involve the decision making
Parties.
• As soon as individuals are no longer able to solve conflict
,they need institutional and academic support.
