DEDICATION
This book is dedicated to and inspired by Master Dr. Mitchell Gibson
(tybro.com). Master Gibson was the physical being who initially inspired me
to connect with deities by way of an altar. He also revealed to me one of my
Spiritual Parents, one of which being the god Tehuti. The spiritual guidance
and influence bestowed on my life, by Master and his soulmate, Acharya,
have helped elevate my soul. For this, I am eternally grateful and honored to
reflect the Light that Master shines on this planet. I love you, Master and
Acharya.

Introduction
There is a Source of energy, or force, which reigns over all encounters in this
physical life. Our ancestors, as well as most of today’s modern cultures,
recognize and pay homage to these ‘forces.’ These days we refer to the
‘forces’ as deities, gods, or goddesses. Based on this premise, esoteric
information suggests that there is a god and/or goddess energy, or force,
involved in every talent, skill, life lesson, and all situations one is exposed to
in human existence. Deity Linkage Manual: How to Find Your Gods &
Goddesses Using Numerology, will assist in discovering the specific gods and
goddesses to promote self-realization, personal attainment, and great benefit
in this life.
Aligning oneself with a powerful aspect of reality, or deity, is one of the
greatest acts to undergo in claiming innate power. Connecting with and
honoring the gods is a way to unite with your Higher Self and the Divine. As
we are their children, our evolution is akin to the evolution of the gods. Our
continued recognition and homage of these energies or forces, provides a
means of tapping into our power and the powers of the Source for guidance,
support, and veneration.
For those aware of the benefits of connecting with gods and goddesses, it is
not uncommon to petition Lord Ganesh to remove roadblocks on paths to
success. If one is looking for love, they may make offerings to the Orisha
goddess, Oshun. Some needing to connect with inner beauty, will call upon
Venus for guidance. Seeking peace and balance, connect with the energy of
the Buddha.
Each of us have gods and goddesses that will resonate with our personal
energy. There are a couple of ways to find the deity(s) that will work the best
with you. First, a person can be “chosen” by the deity. Literally, a deity may
come into a dream, a vision, or actually manifest in the physical to initiate the
connection. This example is the least common but, it does take place.
Synchronicities, or meaningful coincidences, are another example of how a
deity may guide an individual to the awareness of the linkage. In these
instances, the deity is essentially making the connection known to you!
The most common way people find deities to work with is by actively
pursuing the deity. One may begin by reading and doing research on various
mythologies and deity characteristics. This practice usually draws the
researcher to one or more deities with qualities that resonate on a personal
level. This immediate attraction is often followed by various signs and
synchronicities that will involve the very same being. These ‘coincidences’
are confirmation that you have aligned yourself with a god and/or goddess
that is willing to work with you in a guiding, inspirational, and protective
way.
Basically, one is chosen by the gods or one searches for the gods, in order to
initiate the alignment. The Manual provides the names of deities and
characteristics associated with their energies. Similar to a ‘cheat sheet’, Deity
Linkage helps in forming a personal spiritual dream team!
Discovering personal deities with the Manual is a two-part process which
includes using the science of Numerology. First, find your core numbers and
second, choose the deity(s) that correspond to the numbers. This is easier
than what most people think and, you do not have to be proficient in math or
Numerology to get your core numbers. All you have to do is be able to add
single digit numbers.
Four key numbers, derived from your full birth name and birthday are the
baseline to identify various deities for possible linkage. Once the personal
core numbers are verified, relative lists
of gods and goddesses are provided for you to choose.
Deity Linkage Manual focuses on the following 4 Main Areas of Life (4
Core Numbers):
1. Everyday life ups and downs. (Life Path Number)
2. Innate abilities and talents (Gift Number)
3. Self-expression (Expression Number)
4. Desires and likes (Soul Urge Number)
Deity Linkage Manual was created to assist in finding deities that resonate
with you energetically. It is totally up to you how you work with your
personal deity(s). I recommend that you listen to your Spirit Mind (intuition,
higher self, small voice in your head etc.) and follow the path to which you
are best guided.
After selecting personal deities, an easy way to connect is through an altar.
This can be simple with few items or, complex and shrine-like. Selecting
deities that are a good vibrational match to you and connecting with them
through an altar causes dramatic life changes. We are all children of the
Most High or Source and have much spiritual guidance and assistance that
awaits us. The connection, creates a relationship, which becomes a
partnership of the energies. Look at yourself as a physical representation of
the gods. When viewed as a partnership, the connection allows for both
energies (you, deity(s)) to assist one another. Again, the gods evolve, as we
evolve. Included is a chapter entitled “Altar Work”. This chapter provides
details on setting up an altar, prayers, and giving offerings.
Deity Linkage Manual works due to Numerology, the science of number
vibrations. Numbers are prevalent in everything! If you know the numeric
connection between two ‘things’, you will see the resonance between many
people, places, and things. As we each have a birth name and birth date,
which provides a numerical vibration, the deities also have a vibration. Deity
Linkage Manual uses a system of Numerology, personally developed by me
called, Tehuti NuMe™. This is short for Tehuti Numerology™ which is a
system that combines numeric vibrations and the Universal Law of
Correspondence. When you combine numbers and correspondences, you
open up a paradigm to connect the dots between many seemingly unrelated
people, places, and things which includes gods and goddesses.
The Tehuti NuMe is a powerful Numerology system because it affords us the
practical ability to use numbers in any area of life! All numbers, 1-9,
correspond to a planet, astrological sign, element (fire, water, earth, air),
color, crystal and so on. Most of the aforementioned correspondences have a
lot to do with how reality works. The gods are also a huge part of reality and
each deity, on his or her respective list, has an energetic connection to that
number. This link is primarily calculated from planets, attributes,
characteristics, days of the week, colors, and numbers that are linked with the
god or goddess.
It is my intention for this Manual to provide sufficient amounts of deities of
which to study and connect. I am confident that you will find at least one god
and goddess that you “see yourself in”. I guarantee that the information in
the Manual, when applied, will bring significant aid to you on your spiritual
path.
Core Numbers
Using Deity Linkage Manual, the first step to finding your gods and/or
goddesses is getting your four core numbers. You will get two numbers from
your full birth name and two numbers from your birth date. Each of the four
numbers provide the theme for particular areas of life. Each number also
corresponds to a deity. The premise of the Manual is to provide the numeric
link to the gods and goddesses ready to assist you in different areas of life.
To find your four core numbers, you will need your full birth certificate name
(as printed on birth certificate regardless of misspellings) and your full
birthday (MM/DD/YYYY).
Life Path Number
This number deals with general life and everyday ups and downs. We all
have a particular theme to our lives, sort of like a flow. The Life Path
Number shows us how our lives will flow, in general.
How to get your Life Path Number
Add up the single digits in your full birthday. Reduce to a single digit by
adding the sum(s) including master numbers (11, 22, 33).
Example #1
1/4/1977
ADD 1+4+1+9+7+7=29 THEN 2+9=11 THEN 1+1=2 SO Life Path Number
is 2
Example #2
1/18/2001
ADD 1+1+8+2+0+0+1=13 THEN 1+3=4 SO Life Path Number is 4
Example #3
5/15/1979
ADD 5+1+5+1+9+7+9=37 THEN 3+7=10 THEN 1+0=1 SO Life Path
Number is 1
Gift Number
This number reveals your innate gifts, talents, skills, and abilities. Everyone
has some things that are naturally easy for them. The Gift Number clearly
shows us personal gifts that can be shared with the world.
How to get your Gift Number
Add up the day of the month you were born in (1-31). Reduce to a single
digit if not 1-9 already including master numbers (11, 22).
Example #1
7/28/2006
ADD 2+8=10 THEN 1+0=1 SO Gift Number is 1
Example #2
6/22/2012
ADD 2+2=4 SO Gift Number is 4
Expression Number
This number reveals how we like to express ourselves. How we like to
communicate and get our point across is shown by our Expression Number.
How to get your Expression Number
Convert your full birth name into numbers using the Chaldean Numerology
Key (do NOT include Jr, Sr, III etc.). Reduce to a single digit by adding the
sum(s) including master numbers (11, 22, 33, 44 etc).
Example #1
James Ty Jones
Convert letters to numbers using Chaldean Numerology Key
J(1) A(1) M(4) E(5) S(3) T(4) Y(1) J(1) O(7) N(5) E(5) S(3)
ADD 1+1+4+5+3+4+1+1+7+5+5+3=40 THEN 4+0=4 SO Expression is #4
Example #2
Tahj Elaine Perkins
Convert letters to numbers using Chaldean Numerology Key
T(4) A(1) H(5) J(1) E(5) L(3) A(1) I(1) N(5) E(5) P(8) E(5) R(2) K(2) I(1)
N(5) S(3)
ADD 4+1+5+1+5+3+1+1+5+5+8+5+2+2+1+5+3=57 THEN 5+7=12 THEN
1+2=3 SO Expression is #3
Soul Urge Number
This number essentially shows our inner desires, wants, and natural
attractions. The Soul Urge Number reveals what are soul truly wants in this
human life.
How to get your Soul Urge Number
Convert all vowels in your full birth name into numbers using the Chaldean
Numerology Key (do NOT include Jr, Sr, III etc.). Reduce to a single digit
by adding the sum(s) including master numbers.
Y as a vowel or consonant rule - the letter y is a consonant when it is the first
letter of a syllable that has more than one letter. If y is anywhere else in the
syllable, it is a vowel. Y is also a vowel when it is the only letter in a syllable
or sounds like a vowel.
Example #1
Kalil Nas Scott
Convert vowels to numbers using Chaldean Numerology Key
A(1) I(1) A(1) O(7)
1+1+1+7=10 THEN 1+0=1 SO Soul Urge is #1
Example #2
James Ty Jones
Convert vowels to numbers using Chaldean Numerology Key
A(1) E(5) Y(1) O(7) E(5)
1+5+1+7+5=19 THEN 1+9=10 THEN 1+0=1 SO Soul Urge is #1
Example #3
Yolanda Fay Gray
Convert vowels to numbers using Chaldean Numerology Key

Finding Deities
After establishing your four core numbers, you are ready to find gods and/or
goddesses. Deity Linkage Manual will provide a good amount of deities to
choose, selecting at least one is necessary for linking. Tips are provided to
help you narrow down your selection(s). As always, follow your Spirit Mind
and connect with that which resonates.
There are 1-4 unique deity lists to choose from which will correspond to one
or more of your core numbers. For instance, if you have two identical
numbers in your four cores, you will have three unique lists and one will be a
duplicate. If you have three identical core numbers then you will have 2
unique lists from which to choose. Four identical core numbers will produce
one list.
Do not be compelled to opt for a deity from each list. There is no minimum
or limit to the number of gods and/or goddesses you choose. The Manual
was formed to assist in determining deities that energetically mesh well with
your personal vibration. Everyone will likely select different amounts of
deities to work with and for different purposes. How many you accept and
how you work with them is entirely up to you!
You may also decide to work with a deity or two on one of your lists for a
short period of time for a specific reason. Some of these reasons may be to
sell a house, get a job, to find love, having children, or other situations. For
example, if you have a pending court case, you can tap into Lord Ganesh, the
remover of obstacles. Have an upcoming test in a medical class? Dedicating
an altar space and/or prayer (see Altar Work) to the Medicine Buddha can
help with anything related to health.
Keep in mind when selecting deities that you are not adopting something to
work for you necessarily. True deity connection is invoking or taking on the
energy of the gods. Look at it as accessing a superhuman aspect of yourself
labeled gods and goddesses. This will enable more personal productivity
while something “outside” of you produces as well. This is a symbiotic
relationship.
Two Ways to Use Deity Lists:
You may select a deity for an area in your life according to the core numbers.
Or, the deities you choose can be used for general reasons as pertaining to
their attributes (Lakshmi for money, Anubis for protection, Apollo for music,
Sekhmet for power etc.).
Decide on deities for specific areas of life: The four core
numbers identify different areas of life: regular ups and downs
(Life Purpose Number), natural gifts and talents (Gift Number),
self-expression (Expression Number), and likes and desires
(Soul Urge Number). You can select deities under the
corresponding number to help you in the respective area of life.
For instance, to find a god and/or goddess to help you in
everyday life, you would choose deities under your Life Path
Number. For help developing and exposing your gifts, select
deities relative to your Gift Number. To maximize how you
express yourself, connect with a deity of your Expression
Number.
Choose deities in general: Another way to use the lists is to
select gods and/or goddesses correlating to one or more of your
numbers. Any deity under one or more of your numbers
resonates with your particular vibration. With this premise, you
can select any deities relating to your number(s) and, they will
more than likely be willing to assist you on your path.
Tips to Narrow Selection(s):
Familiarity with deities: In most instances, deities that you were
attracted to before and/or work with now will fall under one of
your numbers. Be sure to pay attention, in this case, as you are
already energetically connected with the deity. The Manual
serves as a confirmation for you if it shows this result.
Keywords: Each deity has associated keywords (see Deity
Keywords). These words and/or phrases related to the deities
reflect attributes, offering types, numbers, planets, skills, colors,
animals, etc. If you are attracted to keywords for a deity, you
may want to connect.
Culture/Pantheon: The deity lists are broken up in sections
according to their respective pantheon, culture, or region. If you
have a particular attraction to a region, pantheon, or culture, you
may want to select your deities accordingly.
Choosing gods and goddesses is like making a decision to select anything
else. In their lifetime, many have to decide on a car, home, spouse, etc. How
did you go about selecting what to drive or a place to live? You may have
followed your intuition, done research and investigation, or chose simply
because you felt positive energy and good vibes. Selecting deities is very
similar.
We will close out this chapter with more tips on how to find your deities.
Other tips for finding deities:
Research mythology/story of the deity: Each have a tale
regarding their energy and abilities and plights. These are
usually derived from mythologies. Read their myths and see if
you can “see yourself in the story”.
Physical resemblance: Does the deity favor you physically? Do
you share the same physical characteristics and attributes? Is
there something about their physical representation that reminds
you of yourself?
Name: Does a deity’s name resonate with you? A name is what
identifies a person, place, or thing. One deity’s name may call to
you more than another.
Intuition/Gut feeling: Sometimes, you just know. You may just
“know” without any rhyme or reason that a deity is the right one
for you. This is a genuine sign to connect with the energy.
Next are examples on how to use your core numbers to find corresponding
deities. The first example shows someone with 4 unique numbers (life path,
gift, expression, & soul urge numbers all different). The second example
reflects someone with 2 unique numbers. The selected gods and goddesses,
for the examples, were taken from the Deity Lists in the next chapter.
Remember, when you have a duplicate number within your Core Four, that
specific numeric vibration is strong within you. Therefore, the deities,
associated with those numbers, are very strong connections for you. I
recommend that you concentrate on those deities.
Example #1
Life Path #1: Ra
Gift #4: None selected
Expression #8: None selected
Soul Urge #6: Venus & Oshun
This person chose Ra, Venus, and Oshun.
Example #2
Life Path #3: Seshat
Gift #9: Indra
Expression #9: Ogun
Soul Urge #3: Seshat
This person chose Seshat, Indra, and Ogun.
The next chapter, “Deity Lists,” provides the deity’s name and a brief
description under their particular pantheon/region. Simply identify your core
numbers, locate the number on the lists, and use the tips in this chapter to
help you select deities to work with. It’s really that easy. Do your best not to
overthink the process. Relax and have fun!

Altar Work
One of the best ways to connect with deities is by having an altar and giving
offerings and prayers regularly. An altar is a sacred space or place where you
can make the linkage. There is detailed information on our website,
(3rdeyeactivation.com) and Youtube (youtube.com/thirdeyeactivation), to
help you set up an altar and begin your works. There are a myriad of ways to
set up an altar which is beneficial since everyone has different living
situations. Do your best to set up an altar that fits within your lifestyle.
Again, I suggest listening to your Spirit and follow the path to which you are
best guided.
An altar is a gateway between our world and the Spirit World. Imagine a
doorway that leads directly to Spirit. This is exactly what an altar is, an
entrance (in trance). Once you have an altar set up, you have a direct line of
communication to the Spirit World. This allows for thoughts to be planted
more deeply into the fabric of reality that cause changes in our world. The
gods play a major role in influencing the natural and miraculous events of
this physical world. An altar gives you easy access to this power.
Making a connection to a particular god or goddess is like forming any other
relationship. With some, there may be an instant attraction. Others, take
time and effort. And, some just do not work. Deities have their own unique
personalities, as do humans. Different personality types are going to get
along differently. This is basic sociology and also applies to connecting with
deities.
The single most important factor for cultivating your relationship with deities
is to simply give energy in the form of offerings and prayers (words spoken
during offerings; not religious). It is about consistency. The more you put in,
the more you will get out of the relationship. Do you tend to look out for and
help those who you know have your back? This analogy is not far-fetched
when dealing with deities. The gods know what we are capable of and are
more likely to honor our offerings when we give what we are able and give
from the heart.
The following information will explain how to set up an altar, give offerings
and prayers, and what to place on altars. Choosing deities is one thing,
connecting and putting in work is another. Combine the two, selecting and
connecting, and you have a powerful kinship.
What to place on an altar
A basic altar consists of a table made from a natural element like wood.
Upon the table is usually something representing the four elements: fire,
water, air, and earth.
Fire: candle
Water: bowl or chalice of water
Earth: crystals, gemstones, rocks, coins, money
Air: incense
Placing deities on the altar is fairly easy. All you need is a statue and/or
picture. You can shop online to purchase statues, especially of the popular
deities like Oshun, Ganesh, Lakshmi, Apollo, Thoth/Tehuti, Venus and
others. Or, check local metaphysical, spiritual, and occult shops or flea
markets and specialty boutiques for affordable statues. I recommend buying
statues if your budget allows. If not, a picture will suffice. The idea is to
have something that represents the deity on your altar. It is about the energy
of the item more so than the item itself. The item is a representation of the
energy of the gods or goddesses.
You may place things that are connected to the deities on your altar, as well.
For instance, Oshun loves mirrors so, you can place one on the altar for her.
Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, likes incense and flowers.
The idea of items on your altar, or as offerings, is to attract and magnetize
the energies with which you are attempting to connect. Be sure to place
items on the altar that are associated to the deities being honored.
Prayers & Offerings
Altar work consists of giving regular offerings (food and/or items) and
prayers or words spoken along with your offerings. Prayers have been
associated strictly with religion though this is not necessarily true. A prayer
is simply communication with Spirit forces. Food offerings can be a portion
of your meal or deity specific. Most deities have foods and/or items they
generally like and accept. You can research customary offerings for any
deity to get ideas. Chants pertaining to specific deities can be found as well.
A chant for Lord Ganesh: “Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha,” helps to remove
obstacles.
A food offering can literally be the same thing you eat for dinner. We
usually cook extra food to ensure enough for our offerings. You may also
prepare meals solely for the gods. There really is no right or wrong type of
offering. As a caution, limit the amount of fast food that you offer. You are
attempting to develop a relationship. Would you take a date to a fast food
spot every outing?
An offering can remain on an altar for a day or, just remove before it spoils.
If you get in the habit of offering daily, you can replace the previous meal
with a new one. This cycle will ensure that energy, in the form of food, is
always present. You may also leave foods that last a while on your altar.
Items like potatoes, summer sausage, squash, and rice. These longer lasting
foods should be altar staples especially if leaving home for a few days or if
you travel frequently.
I recommend when giving regular offerings to say a prayer. A way in which
to program your reality through altar work is by saying the same thing each
time an offering is given. The prayer then takes the form of a mantra or, an
exact phrase of words that are repeated. There is something about repetition
that triggers change in our reality. This mindset can take your altar game to
another level.
Three important tips to keep in mind when saying a prayer:
State the name of the gods and/or goddesses that you are
honoring. A name is power. When you address someone in our
reality you usually say their name. This is similar to addressing
energies at the altar. When you state a name, it lets the gods
and/or ancestors know that you are about to say something
(prayer).
Say “thank you for giving” as opposed to asking for what you
want or need. Gratitude is a greater and more powerful energy
than lack. Giving thanks is usually the result of receiving
something. Asking or begging is an energy that comes from not
having (lack). With prayers said in this way, the Universe aligns
so that you receive abundantly that for which you are thankful.
Give gratitude; thanks upon completing prayers and offerings.
Similar to the second tip, gratitude is an important energy. I
recommend that you give thanks and show love when you are
finished with your altar work. Asking out of gratitude and
giving thanks after is a powerful practice that yields wonderful
results.
Listed here are examples of prayers or words to say when giving an offering.
The first example is for the ancestors. The last three are example prayers for
the gods. You may use the examples word for word or modify to your
liking. Remember, try to say the exact same thing every time you give an
offering.
Example #1
Prayer to ancestors
“To all my ancestors both known and unknown…please know in my heart
that I love you…thank you for protecting me, my family, and our
home...thank you for guiding me on my path and putting me in position to be
of service to others in alignment with my highest purpose...thank you for
forgiving me for everything I’ve done in the past or present that has made
any negative karma between us…thank you for blessing me with more
finances and resources…I love all my ancestors both known and unknown…
thank you, thank you, thank you”
Example #2
Prayer to 2 or more deities at once
“(Say names of deities) please know in my heart that I love you…thank you
for protecting me, my family, and our home...thank you for your
guidance...thank you for downloading information and energy into my
consciousness and body to help me reach higher states of enlightenment,
unlock my spiritual vision and all my spiritual gifts, remove negative
energies out my life, and increase the flow of prosperity, abundance, spiritual
wealth, and great health...I invoke the highest rays of each one of your
energies that it’s something I can use on earth and beyond…thank you”
Example #3
Prayer to Lakshmi and Ganesh
“Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh…thank you for your presence in my life…I give
this offering from my heart…thank you for removing obstacles on my path…
thank you for blessing me with more finances and resources…thank you for
all the love I give and receive…thank you for downloading energy into my
life to help me grow spiritually, emotionally, and financially…thank you,
thank you, thank you”
Example #4
Prayer to Tehuti/Thoth
“Lord Tehuti…please know in my heart that I love you…thank you for
protecting me, my family, and our home…thank you for guiding me on my
path to enlightenment…I honor you and invoke the highest ray of energy that
you project…thank you”
More important tips for altar work:
Location: Find the best room/place to set up an altar. This
should be a place that is most respectful and limited of foul
language and activities. Try to avoid bathrooms and garages.
Pay attention to how you feel: Does your altar feel right to you?
How do you feel about the deities on your altar? Do you feel
like you can do more to honor the gods?
Honor the ancestors: I recommend that you have an ancestral
altar in addition to connecting with the gods. When you take
care of your ancestors they will return the favor. An ancestor
altar is extremely important to have.
Regular offerings: Do your best to give offerings every day.
Offerings can be a portion of your meal or an entire course.
You may also offer items such as cigars, alcohol, perfume,
cologne, fruits, nuts, jewelry, coins, money, and Joss paper
(ancestor money).
Keep clean: Make sure to keep your altar area clean. You do not
have to be obsessive, just neat and tidy. Cleanliness is next to
godliness.
Offer meat: Meat is a highly condensed form of energy. Even if
you are vegan or vegetarian, you can still offer meat. Remember,
the gods are not literally eating the food, they just feed off the
energy.
Light candle before offering: Lighting a candle, as it maintains
fire, is like ringing the doorbell to the Spirit World. How do you
know if someone is at your door? They either ring a bell or
knock. This is similar to lighting a candle before giving an
offering.
What to Expect
Once deities are selected, place your statue or picture of the deity(s) on
your altar. Give regular offerings. How do you know if you have made a
connection? Are there ways to verify the deity linkage? Even if you have
not yet begun the linkage process, more than likely the interest in what
happens next or what to expect is present. This chapter will provide clarity
and suggest some signs to watch for to verify your deity connections.
It must be stated that every deity is unique and connects according to your
consciousness. Simply, everyone’s situation and experience can and will
be vastly different. For example, a god may communicate to someone
familiar with Numerology through numbers. The numerologist may
experience many “coincidences” involving a specific number or sequence
of digits. The numbers’ meaning or vibration will convey a message that
applies to their life.
As the gods are everywhere and nowhere at the same time, they can
interact on many levels. This information is critical. As humans, we tend
to place limitations on people, places, and things. Deities, in many
respects, are not bound by laws of limitation and lack. That would be like
comparing an ant to a human being. The ant can do many things but, its
abilities pale in comparison to the capacity of man. This analogy is
relevant and akin to the power of the gods.
Here, it is recommended to have the mindset of infinite possibilities.
When you adopt a mind state of “anything can happen”, you allow the
Universe to provide abundance and prosperity on all levels of life. What
others deem as the impossible become regular experiences for you. Trust
that there are powers within and outside of you that can make anything
happen. Begin by believing that you are worthy and, you will end up
KNOWING it was REAL.
When you begin to work with your deities via an altar and give regular
offerings and prayers, your life will change on many different levels. The
following information will provide some common things to expect and
look out for as you cultivate your relationship to the Divine. Remember,
there is no limit to what can occur. This chapter merely provides a
reference of common experiences one can expect by working with deities
through an altar.
As you go through the list below, keep in mind, the more you experience
is directly related to the strength of the connection with the deities. In
contrast, if there are no changes or happenings in your life, you may want
to select different deities and start over. Like any other relationship,
sometimes we have to let someone go to allow room for new. Sometimes
relationships do not work and we must move on to a new one. In this
case, there is no need to worry about a deity being upset that you have
ended the relationship. Emotions of anger, jealousy, and envy are human
limitations.
Dreams
Deities can appear in dreams in many forms. Dreams are a middle ground
for physical reality and the Spirit World. Have you noticed dreams
usually have no limitations? Anything goes in the dream world! The gods
can get a message to you in countless ways using the dream state. For
example, you can have a baboon giving you solutions to a problem that
you are having in “waking life” during a dream. This example becomes a
sign once you have linked with the god Tehuti, created an altar, and made
regular offerings. Then, one may be aware that the baboon is a
representation of the energy of Tehuti and receive the intended message.
Tip - Keep a dream journal. Write down your dreams in a notebook or
memo app. If you do not remember your dreams, log your emotions and
state of mind upon awakening.
Inner Knowing
Do you just know things? Are your hunches getting stronger? Are you
having more intuitive thoughts? How do you feel about your deities and
altar work? There’s a great sense of just knowing when it comes to
working with deities. As you are connecting with a greater aspect of
yourself (deities), you are tapping into more information. We are trained
to navigate reality through our five physical senses. Our FIRST sense,
commonly called sixth sense or third eye, has no physical limitations.
Signs
There’s something about deities and signs. Signs are probably the most
common way the gods communicate with man. A sign helps provide
direction in our lives. Imagine traveling across the country without signs
to direct you or show the current location. The signs that the gods provide
usually relate to areas of life in which we are experiencing change. Some
examples of how signs can come through: books falling off shelves, lines
or dialogues in movies, conversations with people, billboards etc.
Tip - Keep a record or log of the signs that you experience. This is also a
great way to train yourself to pay more attention to your environment.
When conscious or aware, signs can be found everywhere.
Synchronicities
A synchronicity is a meaningful coincidence. When two or more things
occur at different times and places that are of some importance to you, that
is a synchronicity. After signs, synchronicities may be the most common
phenomenon to occur. Signs and synchronicities let us know we are
moving in the right direction. A synchronicity can be seeing the name of a
deity in two different places in peculiar ways or, any other meaningful,
relative coincidences.
Tip - Keep track of your synchronicities as suggested for tips and dreams.
Again, we increase are awareness by recording our experiences.
Visions
Visions are dreams while awake. Close your eyes and imagine that you
are in your childhood home. With enough time, you can visualize in great
detail, the home you grew up in. This simple visualization is very similar
to visions. A vision of a god or goddess can happen at any time but, is
more than likely to occur during meditation. When you meditate, you tune
out the external environment. This internal look at life expands
consciousness and possibilities. One of these possibilities is an interaction
with a deity.
Better Luck
Luck can be defined with one short phrase, being at the right place at the
right time. We have all experienced a time feeling a day late or a dollar
short. In these times, we feel unlucky. The gods have a way of increasing
chances for success in all areas of life. Then, you feel like things just fall
into place and everything seems to work out smoothly. This does not mean
that there are not rough times. It simply means the rough times are few
and far between.
More Resources
Resources are people, places, and things that benefit us. Connecting with
the gods affords us more energy to have at our disposal. This energy
comes in the form of other people and things. You may be a writer
interested in publishing a book and happen to meet a co-worker who has a
boyfriend who publishes books. This is to be considered a sign and
synchronicity as well as a resource from which you can benefit.
Ideas & Inventions
For millennia, cultures have confessed to new inventions and
philosophical ideas being transmitted from the Higher Worlds by way of
the gods. Most of these cultures left statues, artwork, cave sketches,
megaliths, and pyramids, just to name a few, to document their
communication to and with the Heavens. Working with deities will
inspire new thoughts, ideas, and inventions as your creative juices will
bubble with new ways to express.
In closing, you may also use any of the examples, in your prayers, when
giving offerings. If you need more resources, you can say something like,
“thank you for providing me with the resources to help me sell my book.”
For more creative ideas you can say, “thank you for the great ideas for my
movie project.” You can program your altar for anything. The only limit
is your thoughts. Happy thinking and deity linking!
God Talk Exercise
The God Talk Exercise is a technique to get information, ideas, or inspiration
from a specific deity. Think of it as downloading information from a higher
part of yourself. You may do the exercise anywhere, however, I recommend
practicing at the respective deity’s altar. The exercise is outlined in a stepby-step numbered form. As always, feel free to modify to your personal
liking.
Try this exercise in the dark and light candles to set the mood. Incorporate
crystals that are good for spirit communication like moldavite, amethyst,
angelite, labradorite, or selenite, just to name a few. Add your favorite
incense, too. Play some meditative music such as nature sounds or binaural
beats, if you like.
1. Get in a comfortable position. You may lay down or sit in a chair facing
your altar.
2. Look at the deity’s statue, or image, while you attempt to communicate,
and take at least 10 deep breaths. Make sure to breathe in through the nostrils
and exhale through the mouth. Fill your abdomen when inhaling.
3. Close your eyes continuing to visualize the image or statue of the deity.
You should see the image clearly in your Mind’s eye.
4. Begin to repeat the name of the deity, silently or aloud, while still mentally
seeing their image or statue. This adds to the visualization a chant-like
mantra which is another representation of the energy of the connecting deity.
5. After you feel relaxed and trancelike (5-20 minutes), end the chant.
6. Sit or lay down for about 5 minutes in silence and do your best to “observe
your thoughts” as opposed to thinking
7. Write down your thoughts and/or experiences after you have finished.
You may try this exercise when looking for inspiration or, if you have a
question about something. This is a real exercise, which means you get better
with practice.
Some people may experience highly illusionary visions and interactions with
the gods. Most will receive some new ideas, information, and thoughts. Few
will get nothing. Everyone can become more in tune. Practice. Practice.
Practice.
Common Questions
This chapter is dedicated to common questions that have been received
pertaining to altars and working with deities. Like anything else, this
information is based off my personal research and experiences. In general, I
recommend following your Spirit and allowing your intuition to guide you
into the best possible situations to flourish and evolve.
Can I mix deities from different cultures and pantheons on my altar?
Answer: My main deity altar has three deities. A god and goddess
originating from Africa and a god from Asia. I have mixed cultures and
pantheons ever since starting altar work. Go with your gut feeling if you feel
like the energies won’t mix well.
Do I have to select deities that are from my culture or ethnicity?
Answer: This is personal. Some of you may have to select based on your
ethnicity because of where you live. But, in the United States and the West,
it’s pretty liberal, for the most part. You are not compelled to only select
deities that originated from your homeland or ancestor’s birth country.
Should I have at least one god and one goddess on my altar?
Answer: I recommend that you have at least one of each; a god and goddess
or male and female deity. This has more to do with energy than gender.
Balance is the union of the female and male principles.
My religion teaches that there is only one god. Is this idol worshipping?
Answer: There is one Source of creation that many refer to as The Creator.
The Creator has MANY “children”. One facet of these “offspring” are the
gods. It is common knowledge in most esoteric and occult studies that we are
not able to understand something as infinite and omnipotent as The Creator.
The best thing we can do is study The Creator’s creations.
I do not have much room where I live to setup an altar. What can I do?
Answer: An altar can be small and simple or, large and elaborate. You must
accommodate your living space. You can even erect an altar that is
transportable. The size doesn’t matter as much as the energy of prayers and
offerings.
I am vegetarian. Do I have to give meat offerings?
Answer: No. I highly recommend giving meat as often as possible, however.
According to the teachings of Master Dr. Mitchell Gibson, meat has
condensed energy that the gods can use to make changes in your life.
Remember, the ancestors and gods are not physically eating the food. This
has more to do with energy.
What can I do about my cat and/or dog eating my offerings?
Answer: This is actually a complex question. In general, as long as the
offering is on the altar for a couple of hours or so, it should be fine to reach
the Spirit world. Personally, I feel like the gods and ancestors consume the
foods by way of the animals. The animals could be being energetically
influenced by the Unseen to eat the offerings.
Are statues or pictures better on altars?
Answer: The deities know what we are capable of and can afford. Obviously,
statues are more expensive than pictures. If you are able to afford statues,
then you may want to buy them. Some obscure or less known deities’ statues
are expensive so a picture or item representation (Ganesh = elephant) will do
just fine. In general, the more you invest, the greater the return.
What if my statue breaks or gets damaged?
Answer: I do not recommend having damaged items on the altar. If you are
able to glue back something small that is unnoticeable, this is fine.
How long should I leave food on the altar?
Answer: Replace the previous offer with the new one. Idealistically, you
should be giving a daily food offering. This new one will replace the old
food. Items like fruits, nuts, seeds, and some meats and vegetables can stay
on the altar longer. Do your best not to let food and flowers become spoiled
on the altar.
What do I do with the old offering (food)?
Answer: Some people actually eat the offering. I always discard old
offerings. This is a personal thing and you should do whatever feels right to
you.
Where can I buy statues of deities?
Answer: Most cities have a metaphysical, magic, or new age store. You can
search your local directory for those keywords. There are also online sellers
that you can find using Google. We have altar supplies on our website
3rdEyeActivation.com. You may also find statues and altar supplies on
Amazon and eBay.
Are there things I shouldn’t ask for or program the altar for?
Answer: You may ask for in the phrase of giving thanks for anything you
wish. The key is to request people, places, and things that serve your highest
good. There is no moral code of ethics for petitioning the gods for something
that you want including a new sports car, vacation, dream home, etc.
Are all deities “good”?
Answer: The more accurate question would be, “Is the deity good for you?”
This is a very personal connection that you are making to link with a deity.
The energies should reflect yourself on a deep level. For instance, there are
gods that deal with death and the underworld. This is not necessarily good or
bad but more of an actuality. Death is also symbolic of an end or
completion. This goes way beyond physical death because you can end a
cycle of abuse, addiction, or other things to get rid of or stop. The best thing
you can do is to read their myths and see if the energy (deity) resonates with
you.
How long before I know if I made a link?
Answer: Some people get an immediate feedback or experience to confirm
the linkage while others have to wait. The confirmation can be immediate or
take months. The exact is, we can link with deities the unknown, is the time.
This is true with most things in life.
