-Skills performance.
The results revealed that the
internship program helped
PSCEMS students
accomplish several learning
means: such as
communication skills
development, professional
socialization, an
interdisciplinary work
environment,a professional
methodology, and enables
them to practice their
psychomotor skills.
Themes:
-Treating inappropriately:
lack of communication from the
nursing staffs which is shown
either by negligence or
nonresponsiveness.
-Feeling lost:
lack of regular follow‑ups from
their respective colleges either
through call or visit.
-Shocking from reality:
the interns were apprehensive to
the limited scope of practice of
nurses as established in the
hospital policies and procedures.
They expected that most of the
nursing skills could be practiced
independently in the clinical
areas.
-results of this study revealed
that there were no statistically
signi cant relationships between
all studied interns’ demographic
variables except (age, and
marital status).
-signi cant relationship was
found between job satisfaction
and area of work.
-positive relationship between
job satisfaction, organizational
commitment and
supportive work environment
which will positively affect
patient outcomes.
