Is a service that authorizes individuals and organizations to make their website available on the Internet. A web host, or web hosting provider, is any person or company that delivers the services and technologies that are essential to the website or web page to be viewed. Types of web hosting ● ● ● ● Shared web hosting Dedicated web hosting Virtual Private Server web hosting Colocation Hosting Shared Web Hosting ● Shared hosting is an arrangement where several websites are kept on the same server. It is also the cheapest. ● Shared hosting means sharing a server – and its resources – with other sites. ● Shared hosting is the cheapest type there is. It’s got its benefits, but naturally, things can get a little cramped at times. Dedicated Web Hosting ● Dedicated hosting means your website is hosted on a single server that is dedicated specifically to your website. This cuts out the competition of resources associated with shared hosting, and results in more robust website performance. Virtual Private Server (VPS) Web Hosting ● VPS hosting creates a virtual environment that imitates a dedicated server (where you get a server, and all its resources, to yourself), but within a shared hosting environment. Colocation Hosting ● Is a highly secure data center facility where equipment, servers, space, and bandwidth are available for purchase to businesses.
