Instructions: It is recommended that you also keep a virtual copy of all of these
documents. You may choose to add to this binder as your nonprofit grows, or you may
choose to keep ongoing documents virtually. At a minimum, keep the following
documents in a physical binder and place it in a safe place.
The following pages include templates for a binder cover, table of contents, and cover
pages to print in your corporate binder.
Organization of Documents (in order):
1. Articles of incorporation/Formation documents
2. Bylaws and policies
3. Board meeting minutes for at least 3 prior years (keep first board meeting
minutes)
4. List of name and addresses for board members
5. 501c3 letter and IRS forms
6. Business licenses and permits (if applicable)
7. Leases/Mortgages
8. Annual filings
