Why Strategy&? Why would chose Strategy& over BCG? Estimate the market size of debit
cards’ (revenues) in Italy? How would you review the gas station system in Milan (e.g. in
light of transition towards EVs) by 2030? How many passengers transit from Malpensa
every year? How would define the interest rate for a consumer loan?
4 back to back cases ranging in difficulty. Each case runs about 45 minutes with 15 minutes
intermissions before the next. Some interviewers posed more difficult personalities while
some were more welcoming and helpful.]
Movie theater profitability case prompt
First round with partner, mostly behavioral / fit with a small market sizing case added in.
Second round was with two senior managers. Interviews started with standard intro /
behavioral questions and moved into a short case with market sizing.
Case 1) Your client produces a product that can be used for one of two markets - how
would you go about determining which one to enter? Followed by sizing the market. Case 2)
Your client is looking to acquire a company in XYZ market, how would you go about
evaluating the market? Followed by sizing the market. Both cases were pretty
straightforward; I guess I was surprised that there was no follow-up questions or deeper
dive into the case framework I had proposed. Cases took ~3-5 minutes plus ~5 minutes for
the market sizing.
There were four rounds total - beginning with an on-demand video interview. The middle
two rounds included a case, but were quite informal and the final round was a chat with a
partner

Questions on how I conducted analysis during my projects, and what factors led to
me drawing specific conclusions
Answer Question
Provide specific examples of how your work led key decision making?
How I conducted analysis during my projects”
Fact
STAR – Situation,Task, Action, Result - abilities with setting priorities, making decisions, hitting
deadlines, and delegating tasks (if you've been in a management role)
rom here, start explaining the project, first in terms of its purpose and objective, scope,
complexity [e.g. working with new technology, number of resources, budget, and
timeline] and the key challenge you needed to overcome. Show them that you can see
not only the big picture but also all the little things that need to happen on a daily basis
in order to get the project done. Here's another example of how to answer the question:
In order to get project "X" completed in my previous job, I found out who the key
stakeholders were and got their input on the project's different parts. Then, I outlined the
major milestones that would be involved in completing the project, and worked
backwards to break down the work that would need to be done at each stage.
I created a list of all possible risks that might stop us from reaching those milestones,
and I then added some extra time to the schedule in case anything unexpected came
up. I also made sure that my role and responsibilities in the project were as clear as
possible so I knew exactly what I had to do. The project was completed on time, but
looking back, I realize there were some problems that could have been avoided. For
example, I would have changed "Z" in order to avoid some of the minor scheduling
problems we ran into. Having said that, it's always easier to see what the learnings are
after a project has been completed, and I now know what I'd do differently the next time.
