Breganza, Fel Lizeth Caryl A. Ma'am Palacio. 1BSA-1A. Contemporary World. Assignment 1. Watch this video: “What does it mean to be a citizen of the world? “ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODLg_00f9BE 2. Write your reflection about it Based on what I have watched so far, being a citizen of the world means you are actively participating in activities that will help develop our or your country. We, or you, as a citizen, will help others and ourselves to address the issue or problems that we are experiencing. Being a global citizen means being the voice of those who don't have the voice to express their concern. But with the help of those global citizens, we will be able to address the issues that need to be addressed. And also, helping others with all your might will be the start of encouraging and motivating others to do the same. Through these actions, it might be noticed by the government that they need to resolve this issue and that they need to take action to resolve that problem. Being a citizen means you were able to find ways to minimize the problem, but if you are not alone, we can resolve the issue in the bigger picture. Helping each other is the key to resolving those problems that are being ignored. Global citizens are those who take action to tackle the world's greatest challenge and are aware of it. And this is one of the lines that I remember from the video: "It's not that people don't want to act; it's often that they don't know how to take action or that they believe their actions will have no effect." This made me realize that everyone of us can be a big help to the world if we will just take action, speak up for ourselves, and not be afraid. The societal problems that need to be addressed, such as poverty, climate change, human rights, and other difficulties, must be addressed. By engaging, we can both aid individuals who are impacted by this issue and resolve it for everyone. Additionally, taking action necessitates speaking up since, by doing so, we inform the government of the problems and allow them to address them and come up with solutions. By holding protests, establishing organizations, and making others aware of what has to be done and what needs to be said, we are lending help to those who cannot act and voice out these problems. Doing this protest and forming small groups or organizations doesn't mean that we are rebelling; it is just a way to tell those who are in positions what they need to address and why they are in that position, and we, as global citizens, are required to take action. We don't need to be afraid to speak up or take action; it's our mission as citizens, or what we call "global citizens." It is fulfiling to achieve this mission. By doing this, you are not just helping other people but also yourself and the future of the country.
