PEOPLE AND EARTH’S ECOSYSTEM
ASSIGNMENT #1
Take a picture of an existing ecosystem in your barangay:
Enumerate the different species that can be found in ecosystem:
Terrestrial animals are animals that live predominantly or entirely on land (e.g., ducks,
birds, goats, cows, chickens, frogs, cockroaches, pigeons, rats, geese, pigs, snakes, butterflies,
lizards, dragonflies, grasshoppers, mosquitoes, beetles, ants, crickets, fly, grub, ladybug, maggot,
mosquito, snail, termites, praying mantis, etc.
Identify the importance of ecosystem in your community:
The importance of an ecosystem in our community is that wild plants and animals can live
there and find habitat. It encourages different food webs and food chains. It supports life and
regulates crucial ecological processes. Played a part in the transfer of nutrients between biotic and
abiotic elements. It aids in preserving an ecosystem's regular energy flow, which includes the
carbon, energy, nitrogen, oxygen, and water cycles. It also provide energy building materials,
clothes, medicines, fresh and clean water and air.
Ecosystems can be viewed as separate systems, but they are also interconnected, and if one
ecosystem begins to fail, this can have an impact on other ecosystems all over the world. We
should show care and respect for all the ecosystems that support our way of life. They are essential
to preserving biodiversity, giving us food and fuel, and controlling the environment, among other
things.
