Do you believe Cuddy's contention that our body language influences our mind (and thus, the
outcomes we may achieve)? For full credit, explain why you believe so.
My Answer: - I strongly believe with cuddy’s idea that body language influences us in mind both
positive and negative ways and ultimately the outcome varies. Body language simply promotes
the judgments’ we talk about our nonverbal actions of our body like when we enjoy by moving
our hands up in a v shape after winning, it is nonverbal powerful feeling of the person.
According to the cuddy’s belief if a blind person ever runs the race and wins, he will do the same
action as done by other people can see, so body actions play an important role.
The next thing she talks about is do our non-verbal’s governs how me think and feel about
ourselves? The answer to this question is also yes and she says our minds change our body and
change in a role changes the mind. For example, if you are made a leader of the group of a team
than your mind is changed as a leader and you have an idea to accomplish it, same happened in
the case of wright brothers during the inventions of the airplane, and the outcome changed in a
very beautiful invention.
Furthermore, the leaders or achievers do have high level of testosterone and comparatively low
level of cortisol but in case of the persons the situation is totally different they have high level of
cortisol and testosterone. But according to the article if you motivate a person with a positive
body language or by adjusting its role their minds changes .At the end she also shared her real
life story during her undergraduate that she feels that she is at wrong place and cannot achieve or
pass the college but one of her instructor behaved in a positive way and said her that she can do it
thereby giving a message that our bodies changes our mind, and our mind change our behavior
,and behavior changes our outcomes. Also, small, tiny tweaks and power poses leads to big
changes.
