1. ENOXAPARIN
Indication:
- Prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism and prevention of pregnancy loss in
thrombophilic women
Side effects:
- Injection site hematoma (OCCASIONAL)
- Nausea (OCCASIONAL)
- Peripheral edema (OCCASIONAL)
Adverse effects:
- May lead to bleeding complications ranging from local ecchymoses to major
hemorrhage.
- May cause heparin induced thrombocytopenia (HIT).
2. NALBUPHINE (PRN)
Indication:
- Indicated for pain management
Side effects:
- Sedation (Frequent)
- Diaphoresis (Occasional)
- Cold/Clammy skin (Occasional)
- Nausea and vomiting (Occasional)
- Dizziness (Occasional)
- Vertigo (Occasional)
- Dry mouth (Occasional)
- Headache (Occasional)
- Restlessness (Rare)
- Emotional lability (Rare)
- Paresthesia (Rare)
- Flushing (Rare)
- Paradoxical reaction (Rare)
Adverse effects:
- Abrupt withdrawal after prolonged use may produce symptoms of narcotic withdrawal
(abdominal cramping, rhinorrhea, lacrimation, anxiety, fever, goosebumps).
3. ALUMINUM AND MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE (PRN)
Indications:
- For ingestion
Side effects:
- Chalky taste
- Abdominal cramps
- Mild constipation
- Diarrhea
Adverse effects:
- Hypercalcemia
- Peripheral edema
- Peripheral edema
4. METOCLOPRAMIDE (PRN)
Indications:
- Prevention of nausea and vomiting
Side effects:
Frequent
- Drowsiness
- Restlessness
- Fatigue
- Lethargy
Occasional
- Dizziness
- Anxiety
- Headache
- Insomnia
- Breast tenderness
- Constipation
- Rash
- Dry mouth
Rare
- Hypotension

5. PICOTIN (When contraction progressed to 5-6cm dilation)
Indications:
- Stimulation of uterine contractions to achieve early vaginal delivery and control of
postpartum bleeding or hemorrhage.
Side effects:
- Hypertensions, dysrhythmias, tachysystole, and uterine hyperstimulation.
- Tachysystole is 6 or more uterine contractions in a 20-min window, (hyperstimulation is
defined as uterine contractions lasting at least 2 mins or 5 or more contractions in 10min)
Adverse effects:
- Nausea, vomiting
- Postpartum hemorrhage, uterine rupture.
