Possessive Nouns
*A noun can show who owns something.
*A noun that shows ownership is a possessive noun.
*An apostrophe ( ’ ) is used with singular and plural
nouns to make them possessives.
*Add (’s) to singular noun to show that this one noun
owns something.
Ex:- A dog’s tail is long.
*Add (’) to plural nouns that ends with (s) to show
that more than one own thing or things.
Ex:-many dogs’ tails are long.

Collective Nouns
* A collective noun is a special noun names a
group of the same persons or things.
These things can be animals or objects.
Examples:
-A herd of cows
-A team of players
*A collective noun is a singular even though it
names more than one.

Verbs- Present Tense
*Verbs can tell when actions happen.
Present tense verbs tell what happens now.
Present tense verbs with he, she, it, and
singular nouns usually ends in –s.
Present tense verbs with I, we, you, they, and
plural nouns do not end in –s.

Verb to be (Present Tense)
Some present tense verbs, such as (am, is, and

Verbs- Past Tense
*Verbs can tell when actions happen.
Past tense verbs tell what happened in the past.
Many past tense verbs end with –ed.
Past tense verbs with singular and plural nouns
end with –ed.
Keywords  yesterday, last (night, week, day,...),
in 2002, in the past, ago ….etc.
Examples:
Last week we learned about whales.
I cooked the dinner last night.
The class played football yesterday.
She finished her homework.

Verbs- Future Tense
*Verbs can tell when actions happen.
*Future tense verbs tell what will happen in the
future. Add will before the verb in the future.
(will + verb)
*The future tense of verb to be is will be.
Ex: - She will be a great writer one day.
Keywords  tomorrow, next (year, week, day,..),
in 2040, in the future, soon, later, ….etc.
Examples:
Next week we will visit our relatives.
I will be a scientist in the future.
The class will present the broadcast soon.
She will wear her new dress tomorrow.
