An industrial visit was organized to Tedstart by Computer Science department,
Jaipur on August 31, 2017. Tedstart is a joint initiative of Startup Oasis and
Department of Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan, which will foster
entrepreneurship in 7 regions of Rajasthan by providing special startup support
programs to solve obstinate problems of the state. 64 students of JECRC visited
Tedstart campus at Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Rajasthan (Center
for Electronic Governance), Jaipur and learn how to tap into the pool of
entrepreneurship to solve persistent problem.

What Is TEDx
TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” It
supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own
community. The TEDx program started in 2009 and has held nearly 15000 events
worldwide. It recently touched a new milestone: 1 Billion views of TEDx Talks.
Startup Oasis is a Jaipur based startup incubation centre that is developing an
active support ecosystem in Rajasthan to inspire, support and mentor students,
budding entrepreneurs and startups to solve local / regional problems, develop
breakthrough innovations and create world class startups. It has been set up by the
joint initiative of Rajasthan's premiere industrial promotion organizationRIICO (http://www.riico.co.in/) and the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and
Entrepreneurship- CIIE, Ahemedabad (www.ciie.co). The incubation centre is
further supported by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship
Development Board (NSTEDB) of the Department of Science and Technology,
Government of India.
Some of the Key activities of Startup Oasis are:
 Incubation, mentoring and funding support of upto Rs 25 lacs as convertible
soft loans / equity to startups in the sectors like agriculture, healthcare, crafts
& livelihoods, education, energy etc from the low income states of India,
including
Rajasthan
and
Madhya
Pradesh.

 Knowledge sessions, early stage incubation programs and mentoring to
startups & social enterprises from Rajasthan through 7 incubation centres
established in the cities of Ajmer, Bharatpur, Jhalawar, Udaipur, Jodhpur,
Bikaner and Jaipur in collaboration with the Department of Technical

 Physical incubation and co-working space at its multiple centres across the
state of Rajasthan in Jaipur (2 locations), Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ajmer and

 Support institutions and organisations in conducting startup incubation
programs through capacity building workshops and knowledge / program
support services. Startup Oasis has actively supported institutions like
Banasthali Vidyapeeth and the Indian Institute of Crafts and Design to
conduct women focussed and craft focussed incubation programs,
respectively.
