Make a reflection paper on the overview of Multigrade Classes. At least 2 paragraphs with 10
sentences each.
Multi-grade teaching is a type of Inclusive Education where different grade levels
are merge in one classroom. It is a kind of educational system wherein it is usually
practiced on remote areas or typically rural areas. It is implemented by the government
most especially the educators and the enthusiasts in order to establish education on
certain areas and to give opportunity to the learners out there most specifically for those
who cannot afford to go to a regular class. Multigrade teaching has important ways
provide good quality education to children who are often neglected by their education
system because of the area of living they have, poor and remote communities. I should
make a Multigrade classroom that provide the opportunity to break down the hindrance
between grades and look at the students as group of learners. We know that multi-grade
class is has a lot of problems in terms of the management in the class because of the
overcrowded pupils being handled by a single teacher that’s why scheduling routines are
very essential for an effective multigrade teaching.
When I stared to learn about the concept of multigrade teaching, I realized that
this approach can be helpful to areas that needs attention to address issues on access to
education such as remote and rural areas, and areas that facing different types of
conflict. I am now aware that learning environment should be considered to create a
classroom conducive to learning. As a successful multigrade teacher, I must balance my
time effectively and prepare variety of activities to keep all groups of students engaged
in the multigrade environment which is an opportunity to develop new and more effective
teaching processes. The classroom will behave and learning will progress when routines
are established. The precise explanation of classroom rules was another excellent
method for a successful multigrade lesson. The foundation for a productive and
successful classroom environment is the set of rules. For students in multigrade classes
to respect one another, it is crucial that we can explain the rules in detail to them. Rules
can assist us as teachers in judging our students' behavior. The norms that we as the
instructor implicitly impose in the classroom should be agreed upon by the students and
the teacher. It is crucial that it speak to our varied student body.
