RELAIONSHIP OF TEST, MEASUREMENTS, ASSESSMENT, TEACHING AND EVALUATION EVALUATION TEST TEACHING MEASUREMENT ASSESSMENT Tests, measurements, assessment, teaching and evaluation are interrelated in such a way that they all serve an essential part in the teaching-learning process. The information gathered from all these could be used as basis on how to move forward with the educative processes. Testing for instance, is a salient part in assessing student-learning. In the context of language learning, Priscila Allen defined language testing as the practice and study of evaluating the proficiency of an individual in using a particular language effectively. To evaluate said proficiency in numerical terms, some form of measurements could be used. The results of the measurements could then be assessed and evaluated so as to help improve and/or modify the teaching-learning process. The assessment process can be ongoing, individualized, positive, and provides feedback while evaluation provides closure to the lesson, is judgmental, and is applied against standards. In short, all of the mentioned items co-exist to make education worthwhile.
