THINGS TO BRING WHEN
GOING FOR A ST. THOMAS
TOUR
So, you've seen some amazing photos of the
US Virgin Islands, a classic Caribbean
destination, and made the decision to take a
St. Thomas island tour, too. Congrats on the
decision!
PACKING ESSENTIALS WHEN GOING
TO ST. THOMAS
• Essential Documents
• Clothing
• Toiletries & Medication
• Sunscreen
• Water Proof Bags And Cases
• Backpack
ESSENTIAL DOCUMENTS
• Americans can travel to the US Virgin
Islands (USVI) without a passport.
However, it never hurts to have it with
you, just in case. At the very least, it'll
help you clear customs when your
return. And, assuming you'll be visiting
anywhere other than the USVI, then
you'll need your passport and other
verification documents like your
driver's license and insurance
information.
CLOTHING
• The island of Thomas is a tropical retreat;
that's why the dressing there is mostly
casual. So men can pack shorts and casual
t-shirts, while women can dress in summer
dresses, shorts, and tank tops. Just keep in
mind that the US Virgin Islands weather
can be humid, so pack lightweight,
loose clothing that won't make you feel
heavy.
TOILETRIES & MEDIC ATION
• Bring your essential bathroom supplies, such
as shampoo, soap, and toothbrush. But, if you
forget them or don't want to bring them in
your bag, these things can be purchased on
the island. Now, as for beauty supplies, ladies
don't have to bring their whole collection of
makeup and hair products. The island has a
more "relaxed" look to it. So, you can bring
some moisturizer, light makeup, and
conditioner to keep your hair clean and
smooth after snorkeling and scuba diving.
SUNSCREEN
• Along with the usual clothing and
toiletries, sunscreens and lotions are an
absolute must when going to the Virgin
Islands. The tropical temperatures on St.
Thomas mean higher levels of UV
radiation, so proper skin protection is
essential to ensure you don't get
burned or suffer any long-term damage
to your skin.
WATER PROOF B AGS AND C ASES
• Considering how much water you'll be
exposed to – either by going to one of
the fabulous beaches on the Islands or by
enjoying the many water sports there are
to check out – you'll want to protect
your gadgets while not missing out on the
excitement. That's where waterproof bags
and cases come in. These simple yet
effective must-haves will enable travelers
to safely store all their items for a hasslefree beach visit or an adventurous day
out.
B ACKPACK
• For solo adventurers, traveling with a
carry-on baggage is the ideal choice. It's
lightweight, spacious, and has lots of
pockets to keep your stuff organized, but
most importantly, it frees up your hands,
which is especially useful when you're
taking part in something athletic
like hiking or climbing.
