You are filled with death. In the morning, Dead animal bodies fill the hay. In the evening, Small cicadas annoyingly buzz away. At the surface, You appear as you are innocent. Yet, You tore my family apart like a paper shredder. Oh, nursery! Do not mess with me… Summary Lydia is worried about the nursery, it was different than how it usually was. When they both go inside the nursery, the african veldt was very realistic. They think of locking the nursery for a few days. At dinner, they discuss it with Peter and Wendy, the children claim that there is no Africa and when George goes to investigate, they turn it into a forest. They let David McClean look at the nursery, he convinces George to kill the nursery. The children in revenge lock their parents in the nursery and let them be eaten by lions. Themes The themes of the story are the dangers of technology, automation and retaliation. When the nursery was shut down, the children were in hysterics and screaming because they did not want to go back to their normal life, instead wanting the happylife home. The children feel like they are also sometimes powerless, like when George did not allow them to go to New York. This caused hatred and retaliation against the parents, which thus resulted in them getting killed in the end. Meet George! ——George is a very important character in the story of the Veldt. He decided to check out the nursery to see the Veldt and the three lions in the nursery. If he didn't decide to close the nursery, maybe they wouldn't die in the nursery. Drawing
