IOT based Fire Alerting System Project Viren Pamani Information Technology SAKEC MU India viren.pamani@gmail.com Prabhat Asai Information Technology Sakec MU India prabhat.asai@sakec.ac.in Introduction of IOT Based Fire Department Alerting System Project In markets, stores, malls, residential buildings, parking areas, etc., fire alarms play a very important role. At an early stage, they help to detect fire or smoke which can help to save lives. Commercial fire warning devices, with the aid of a buzzer or siren, typically provide an alarm signal. Using temperature and a smoke sensor, we developed an IOT-based Fire Warning System that would not only signal the presence of fire in a specific premise, but also submit relevant information.. The Internet of Things (IoT) is essentially a network of 'things' through which with the help of sensors, electronics, software and networking, physical things can exchange data. No human intervention is needed by these systems. We can send LIVE data such as temperature, smoke value detected by a specific device to the Fire Department in this Arduino fire alarm system with temperature and smoke sensor using the IOT project.. A detailed description of the IOT based Fire Alerting System Project Two sensors, namely, temperature and smoke sensors, are used by the IOT Based Fire Alerting System. There is an ADC converter that converts the analog signals received to digital at the end of the sensor and then transmits them to the Arduino microcontroller. When the temperature and the smoke exceed a threshold value, the micro-controller is programmed to turn on the buzzer. At the same time, Arduino sends the data to ESP8266, the Wi-Fi board. The ESP8266 is a chip that is used to connect Wi-Fi network microcontrollers. ESP8266 will then provide the following details to the IOT website, where approved individuals can take appropriate steps to curb the fire. 1. 2. 3. 4. Temperature (in Degree Celsius) Smoke Value (in Percentage) Device ID Date and Time Stamp Device ID is the specific ID that a device is issued to help workers access information relevant to the location where the fire is detected. The prerequisite for this IoT-based fire alarm device is the connection of the Wi-Fi module to a Wi-Fi zone or hotspot. This project will also be carried out without an IOT module. We used a GSM module in place of the IOT module, which activates an SMS when the buzzer is switched on. The Arduino Uno board is used in combination with the ATmega328 chip. The key controller used is of course, the ATmega328 that regulates the temperature sensor's home fire alarm. To detect the heat from the burn, an LM35 temperature sensor is used. When the system detects the temperature of 50.0 C or more, it will immediately display an alert notification on LCD display. Through this system, it can help users to improve their safety standards by having immediate response in preventing accidents. This will eventually allow the users to protect their lives and the properties as well from the disaster Technical Specifications The components that are used in the IOT based Fire Alerting System using Temperature and Smoke Sensor project are: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Arduino's IOT-based fire alarm system can be used in chemical plants, shopping centers, local stores, educational institutions, parking areas, businesses, etc. Using WiFI can be used as a precautionary measure at all the locations mentioned above, and can help to alert the fire departments early. IoT-based fire alarm warning system. As soon as the buzzer clicks ON if sufficient and immediate action is taken, it will help to prevent Question & Answers Question: Is the buzzer going to turn ON, even though someone is smoking cigarettes? Response: Yes. Even when it senses tobacco smoke, or candle flame, the buzzer will turn ON. Question: Is there a way to stop the cigarette smoke and candle flame buzzer turning ON? Answer to No. What we can't do.
