If you are leaving the country ​before the ARC expiration date​, please be sure to relinquish your ARC
to airport immigration to cancel your visa.
If you plan to leave ​after the ARC expiration date​, you will need to visit the appropriate immigration
office before the expiration date to switch your E-2 visa to a tourist visa. If you have purchased a
departure ticket, be sure to take it to the immigration office with you.
You will receive your final monthly payment into your Korean bank account as we do not transfer
payments overseas​. Also, keep in mind that this payment will be prorated if you do not fully
complete your final month.
If you have completed one year or more of your employee contract, ​you will receive your severance
payment on the 10th of the following month of your resignation date​. Please refer to the following
to ensure that you receive your severance payment properly:
a) Staying in Korea for a prolonged period OR a Korean native
· Create a free IRP (Individual Retirement Pension) account at any bank (recommended to
use KEB Hana Bank)
· Send a photo of the IRP bankbook and your ARC or Korean Identification card to
facultylink@chungdahm.com
b) Leaving within 2 weeks of your resignation
· Send a photo of your Korean checking account bankbook and your ARC to
facultylink@chungdahm.com
· Send in your flight information/ticket and a photo of your Passport to
facultylink@chungdahm.com

In addition, if you plan on filing your Korean Income Taxes after you leave the country, your tax refund
will need to be deposited into a Korean bank account under your name. ​You must make sure to speak
with your bank to setup an automatic transfer of funds to your overseas account or create a Visa or
MasterCard check card​ so that you will be able to withdraw funds from your Korean bank account
from overseas.

Please make sure that you pay all outstanding bills from your current residence. If we receive receipts
from your landlord after you leave the apartment, we will inform you via email. If
necessary, a portion of your final paycheck will be withheld in order to cover such expenses.
Your CDL email account will be deactivated on the day of your resignation​. If there are any emails in
your CDL account which you care to keep, please forward them to your personal email account before
this date. Please keep in mind that your last opportunity to check your pay statement online is on this
