A discussion of the discrimination that Asian Canadian frontline(2021) employees suffer can
be found in the article titled "As Asian Canadian frontline workers endure rampant
discrimination, report." The author claims that there are a great many ways in which the way
these workers are handled can be changed to be more effective, and that these ways can
be improved upon. The following are some of the suggestions:
-Ensuring that each and every worker is accorded the same degree of consideration and
courtesy
-Offering instruction on how to interact with clients who might be discriminating.
-Ensuring that workers don't experience any reluctance in coming forward to report
instances of discrimination
Increasing workplace diversity and welcoming participation from all employees(p.34)
Additionally, the author argues that organizations have a responsibility to do more to help
the Asian Canadians who work for them. This includes giving them with resources and
support in order to assist them in coping with the discrimination that they are subjected to.
One of the most significant challenges that frontline workers of Asian descent in Canada
encounter is facing discrimination from clients. Dealing with this issue can be quite
challenging due to the fact that it can be challenging to know how to respond to the
circumstances that arise. The author advises that firms should provide training to their staff
on how to deal with prejudiced clients. This training should be provided by the organizations
to their employees. In this training, you should learn how to diffuse potentially dangerous
situations as well as how to report incidents.
Another recommendation is to make sure that employees are able to report any instances
of prejudice while yet maintaining their sense of safety. This is significant since many
employees may have the impression that they are unable to speak up about what is taking
place to them.(p.38) In addition to this, it is essential for businesses to work toward
developing more welcoming and varied work environments. This can be helpful in reducing
the likelihood of discrimination occurring in the first place.
Additionally, more needs to be done by companies to help the Asian Canadian employees
that work for them. This includes giving them with resources and support in order to assist
them in coping with the discrimination that they are subjected to. In addition to this, it is
essential for businesses to make certain that all of its staff members are treated fairly and
with respect at all times. This could contribute to making the working environment more
upbeat and pleasant for everyone.(Acre Fernando)
