Procedure
Teacher’s Activity
Student’s Activity
A. Daily Routine
1. Opening Prayer
Let us all stand to feel the presence of the (The student lead the prayer)
Lord. Kim, kindly lead us a prayer.
2. Customary Greeting
Good morning class!
Good morning ma’am
Before you take your seat see to it that your
chairs are properly align and pick up the
thrashes under your chairs.
If you’re done you may now silently take
your seats.
3. Checking of attendance
Secretary are all of you are present today?
Yes ma’am
General Rule:
1.Observe silence once the discussion started.
This means switches off or silent all your phones.
2.Just raise your right hand if you know the
answer, do not shout it.
3.Be cooperative in doing any activity, work
collaboratively
and
follow
procedures
religiously.
Is that clear class?
Yes ma’am
B. Review
Last meeting, we talked about symbiotic
relationship and its different types. So there
are 5 types of symbiotic relationship, give
one types of it?
Yes, Jane.
One of the symbiotic relationships is Mutualism;
it is a symbiotic relationship where both
organisms are benefited from each other.
Give me one another types of symbiotic Another type of symbiotic relationships is
relationship. Yes, Cris.
Commensalism; it is where the organism is
being benefited while the other one is
unharmed.
What else? Yes, Jake.
Who can give another one? Yes, Mike.
Precisely!
Now how about the last one wherein
organisms compete or fight for survival.
Yes, Rudy.
Parasitism; it is where the organism is benefited
while the other one is being harmed. The
parasite is sucking its nutrient to feed from the
host.
Predation ma’am; It is where the organism
serves as a food to the other organism, the
predator hunts for its prey, which serves as a
food.
Competition ma’am.
Very good. I am glad that you remember
our past lesson.
C. Motivation
Before we start our activity let me first
group you into 3
(The teacher divide the student)
Our activity is entitled “Guess Me What”
Here is the mechanics of the game
Can you please read. Yes, James?
Mechanics:
1. The chosen representative of the
group will pick inside the box a paper
with a word written on it.
2. The representative will act the word
that he/she picked. (the
representative must not say any
word/s, anyone caught speaking while
acting will be having a deduction of
two points)
3. The remaining members of the group
will be the ones to guess what their
team mate is acting (you may pass if
you cannot guess the word at hand
and pick another one)
4. Within 30 seconds, the group with the
highest point will be given a reward!
D. Presentation of the lesson
In order to unlock our topic for today, let’s
have another activity entitled “Solve me,
I’m broken”
Cha can you please read the mechanics of
the game/activity.
Mechanics:
1. Each group have an envelope
2. Inside the envelope there must be a
puzzle cut-out
3. Paste the puzzle on the bond paper
4. Each group must solve the puzzle
5. You will be doing this activity in 2
minutes
6. After solving the puzzle, see at the
back you will see numbers paste the
output base on the number.
Are the mechanics clear to you class?
Yes ma’am
(The teacher go around to check the
output of the students)
(The students work on their task to solve the
puzzle)
So, group 1 what does the picture or the
puzzle wants to portray it’s a ______?
Food ma’am
Very good!
How about the group 2?
Addition sign ma’am which is plus
Very good!
Group 3?
It’s a chain ma’am
So, if we combine the two words which is
food and chain what would it be?
Yes, Vane.
Food Chain ma’am.
Very good!
You are all wonderful! Give yourselves
a clap!
E. Discussion
Let’s watch a simple video on food
chain be a good listener and viewer so
that you will understands the concept
and take note of the important details
Is that clear class?
Based on the video that you’ve watch
what is a food chain?
Yes, Julia.
Yes, ma’am
Food chain is a sequence of organisms that feed
on each other and it is a pathway that
represents the exchange of energy from one
organism to another.
Precisely!
What does food chain show?
Yes, Joy.
Very good!
What is the source of energy?
Its show where energy goes ma’am.
Yes, Mark.
The sun ma’am
That’s right! A food chain always starts
with the sun.
How about the organisms that make
their food from the sunlight.?
They are the plants ma’am
Very good!
And they are also called as _____?
Excellent!
Producers ma’am
If the plants are capable of utilizing
sunlight to produce their food, other
organisms, on the other hand, feeds
on other organisms.
What letter C, are they called?
Now I will show you the trophic level
(The teacher show the picture of the
trophic level)
Consumers ma’am
(The teacher discuss the trophic level)
Based on the picture what is the biggest
part on the pyramid?
Yes, Mel.
Why do you think that the producers have
the biggest part?
That’s right!
Producers ma’am
Because it can create its own food from the main
source of energy through the process of
photosynthesis.
Let’s have an example of a food chain
(The teacher give an example of food chain)
Now it your turn to give an example of food
chain
Yes, Jayson.
(The student give his/her answer)
Excellent! You’re doing good job!
F. Activity Proper
Now, we’ll be having an activity which is
entitled “Construct chaining”. In my (Representative of every group get the envelope)
hands
are
envelopes
containing
pictures. Representatives from each
group please get your envelope now.
Do all the groups have their envelopes?
Yes ma’am
Who would like to read the mechanics
for this activity?
Yes, Roy.
Mechanics:
Thank you
Now class, do you have questions or
violent reactions regarding the activity
and its mechanics?
(After 3 minutes every group present
their output)
1. Construct a food chain using the
pictures inside the envelope.
2. Explain your work showing the
transfer of energy from the food
chain you have constructed.
3. You will be given 3 minutes to
finish the task and present your
outputs afterwards.
None ma’am
G. Generalization
Again class, what science concept did
we learned today?
Yes, Mica.
Very good!
It’s all about food chain ma’am!
And what comprises a food chain?
Yes, Love.
Excellent!
So, Love stated the consumers and
their orders, now who could give me
the other names of consumers?
Very good!
a food chain is composed of;
1. The sun which is the main source
of energy
2. The producers or the plants who
makes their own food using
sunlight
3. The consumers which are
categorized into: first order
consumers, the one that eats the
producers, the second order
consumers which eats the first
order consumer, and the third
order consumer, which basically
eats the second order consumer.
4. And the decomposers which feeds
on the decaying organisms.
The consumers are also called as:
1. Herbivores- and they eat plants
only
2. Carnivores- who feeds on meat
only
3. Omnivores- which eats both
plants and animals
The fact that you guys can state the
summary of our lesson means that you
understood the lesson very well.
H. Application
I have pictures of organisms here. Now,
I will raise the pictures one at a time
and your task is:
1. to tell me what do you see on
the picture
2. to tell me whether it is a
producer, an herbivore,
carnivore, omnivore, or a
decomposer.
You have to raise your hand if you
want to answer. Understood class?
(The teacher will raise the picture one
at a time)
Wow, you are good at classifying
organisms now, that’s a proof that you
are listening and participating carefully
in our discussion.
Yes, ma’am
(The students answer)
I. Valuing
So I have here a quotation, kindly read
it class.
“No man is an Island”
How can you relate this quotation with
our topic?
Yes, Joyce.
Very well! We need one another in
order to live. We must always
remember to value the life of every
organism, from the tiniest bacteria to
the biggest blue whale and from the
smallest seed of mustard to the tallest
plant. Because everyone is included in
the circle of life!
(The student share their ideas)
J. Evaluation
For today’s lesson, I will give you a
worksheet to work with. You will be
doing this for 5 minutes.
(The student do the task ask by the teacher)
A. From the illustration above, identify
the following.
Main Source of Energy: _______
Producer:________
First Order Consumer: ______________
Second Order Consumer: _________
Third Order Consumer: ___________
B. List down the organisms found in
your community. Classify the
organisms according to the following
categories by putting a check on
their classification.
(Group 1 present your output)
(Group 2 present your output)
(Group 3 present your output)
(Group 1 present their output)
(Group 2 present their output)
(Group 3 present their output)
Let’s clap for ourselves for
accomplishing the task. Now pass your
worksheets forward.
K. Assignment
Everyone, kindly bring out your
notebooks and copy your assignment.
That’s all for today class
Good bye!
1. What is food web?
2. Give example of food web
Good bye ma’am.
