The message of the author is to raise awareness of the negative impact of technology to the society. 2. What is your overall reaction to the message? The author is biased for he only focused on the negative effects of technology and ideas he only want to present to present the negative impact of technology to the society. 3. Which content/information of the article are acceptable for you? Please support your answer. The statement “Social interaction, free will, rational choice, symbolic communication are diminished by technological advances for most people”. In most cases, due to technological advances interaction between two people hanging out is becoming less because one is busy or fully occupied in using his/her cellular phone. 4. Which content/information are not acceptable for you? Why? “Technology in the classroom will destroy the opportunity to teach students critical thinking and analytical skills by eliminating one of many mechanisms such as Socratic method…” Based on my perspective, this is not always true because this is practically due to teachers’ factor or method in utilizing the technology in the class. 5. What types of evidence or persuasion are used? Has evidence been interpreted fairly? The evidence presented are based on his observation on society and understanding. 6. How is the work structured? Does it favour a particular interpretation or point of view? Is it effective? In general, the piece is effective in showing the negative effects of technology. 7. Does the work/article enhance understanding of key ideas or theories? Does the work engage (or fail to engage) with key concepts or other works in its discipline? The article does not enhance understanding of key ideas because he only demonstrated limited accurate ideas without deepening it.
