STORY ELEMENTS
Let’s take notes on the Story Elements in the film first to gather context.
Story Elements:

Plot – Write a summary of the story.

What is the problem in the story? How was the problem resolved?

Characters – Who is the protagonist and antagonist

Setting – Describe the setting (think about the time the film was set (two different times)
and describe the settings that Saroo lives in – Young Saroo and Adult Saroo)
 Conflict – Were there conflicts in the film? Describe them.
Eg. Saroo vs another character, Saroo vs Nature, Saroo vs Society, Saroo vs technology, Saroo vs
himself? Does he have a conflict with any of these?
THEME
Brainstorm some Topics/Subjects that the film might be about.
Eg. Survival, Family etc
What do you think the overall Theme is of the film?
Write a Theme sentence to help us understand the overall message the
author is trying to convey to us as his/her audience based on
MOOD
What is the ‘mood’ of the film? How do you know?
Explain what makes you think this.
