The Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) , Division of ChiLd Supp o rt
(DCS) is providing child support . services for the child(ren) named above.
Although one or more of your public assistance benefits (K-TAP, Medicaid, KCHIP
or Kinship Care) may have ended, you may continue receiving child support
services. CHFS WILL AUTOMATICALLY PROVIDE CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES UNLESS
YOU NOTIFY THE OFFICE LISTED AT THE END OF THIS LETTER, IN WRITING, THAT
YOU NO LONGER WANT SERVICES.
CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES INCLUDE:
- location of noncustodial parents
- establishment of paternity for children born out-of-wedlock
- establishment and enforcement of child support and medical support orders
- enforcement of spousal support orders when the child and spouse or former
spouse live together and CHFS is collecting support for the child
- collection of child support and spousal support
- review of child support and medical support orders for possible
modification
Child support payments will be collected by CHFS and forwarded to you until
the support obligation owed for the month is paid. If the noncustodial parent
pays more than the amount1 owed for the month, any extra amount will be used by
CHFS to pay any past-due support that is ordered to be repaid. Unless there
~re arrearages owed to you, any extra amount will be used by CHFS to pay pastdue =-u~ port that accum11lnted while you received public assistance ben~fits.

by CHFS until the first of the following month when it will then be forwarded
to you if support is owed to you.
You may contact the child support office at the address provided on page two
to request that your case be closed. If you decide to apply for child support
services after your case is closed, you will have to complete a new application.
If your child(ren) receives Medicaid, K-TAP, KCHIP or Kinship Care benefits in
the future, you will automatically receive child support services.
