1. Find and count the sepals at the base of your flower. Why is the sepal an important part of the
flower as it develops?
2. Find and count the petals of your flower. Why are petals usually bright colored?
3. Which part of the flower holds the pollen?
4. Find the male part of your flower (the stamen). Why is it important that these structures are tall
and reach towards the top of the flower?
5. Find all the female part of your flower - the pistil. It contains the stigma and ovary.
Cut open the ovary. How many eggs are inside?
