TEXT: ACT 16:16-30
INTRODUCTION: Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power
praise him for his mighty acts praise him according to his excellent greatness. Ps 115:1-6
WORSHIP BRINGS FREEDOM AND SALVATION
Paul and Silas are freed from prison through praise
a. VS16-21 Paul and Silas get in trouble because of slave girl (money)
b. VS 22-23They are beaten and put in stocks (not fun!)
PRAISE AND WORSHIP BRINGS FREEDOM BECAUSE…

VS 25; Worship does not depend on conditions
VS18; when everything is going wrong – praise the Lord.
PRAISE AND WORSHIP ARE ALWAYS GOOD
a. Know how to praise God
b. Some people worship music, but not God.
c. Music is powerful – it can bring you to God
WORSHIP BREAKS CHAINS VS26
a. There are some things in life we cannot be free from apart from worship
b. The Israelites defeated Jericho by praise.
WORSHIP BRINGS PEOPLE TO CHRIST 27-34
a. Forget about everyone else and just focus on God” is great if you are by yourself!
b. We are here to worship God TOGETHER! (Paul AND Silas)
c. Many Distractions: “I wonder what they are thinking.
WORSHIP IS A WITNESS TO THE WORLD: 35-40
1) VS 26-37 Come and get us yourself!
a. Fear came upon the people
b. The apologized – Vengeance is mine says the Lord!
2) Why should we shout? Others need to hear!
3) Do you love God? Show him by your worship…
CONCLUSION: Zeph. 3:17 Do you know God sings about you? The LORD your God in the middle of you
is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over you with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over you
with singing. Worship is to gladly give your whole life to God, when everything is going wrong. Praise
the Lord, Worship will change your life.
