Parts of Speech Mystery Pictures Teacher Directions-Fall Set #1 Get ready to have your students excited to review their parts of speech. With the easy to understand format and the included color keys, these practice pages will be one of the easiest activities you use all year. Each of the four pictures includes a review of parts of speech- Four Mystery Pictures Using Parts of Speech: Pronouns, Conjunctions, Interjections, Prepositions, Person Common Nouns, Action Verbs, Abstract Nouns, Concrete Nouns, State of Being Verbs, Adjectives, Adverbs, & Verb Tenses (Present, Past, Future) making this the perfect set to test your students' knowledge or help them practice finding and identifying words by their part of speech. Directions for Use: 1- Copy the mystery picture that you want your students to complete (or all of them and hand out random pages). 2-Deomonstrate for the students how to use the color key at the bottom of the page to complete the picture. Example: If the crayon in the box says "Purple," all the words that match that part of speech would be colored purple on the grid. 3- Instruct students to color all 100 words to reveal the mystery picture. 4- Enjoy as the students’ grin and cheer when their mystery picture appears. Alternate Ways to Enjoy These Mystery Pictures Have students tell a story about the revealed mystery picture. You could send the completed page home and have the student write a story on the back. Have students use five or more of the words on the picture to write a short story. Send home the page as a homework or extra credit assignment.
