RET- Remote Electric Tilt
RET: mandatory for new antennas and all bands in case of dual band
antennas. In case of antennas 900 with GSM 900 configuration,
RET activation should be quoted to Phase 1. Antennas 900
configured just for UMTS 900, RET activation should be quoted in
Phase 3. One step quotation does not distinguish between phases,
so RET is quoted in the year that the antenna is installed. For new
antennas RET must also be activated in the network. Introduction
and activation of RET in reused antennas should be preciated as
an optional issue, to be quoted in an alternative TCO.

The Smart Bias Tee combines the performance of a standard Bias Tee with the

RCU Installation
Step 1: Send to OM the Serial Number of the RCU with
the Sector and Technology
Step 2: Record the current tilt of the Antenna
Step 3: Change the tilt of the Antenna to minimun value
0º or 2º depending of the antenna frecuency.
Step 4: Connect the RCU
Step 5: Connect the AISG cable to the next RCU if the
configuration is in chain or connect the AISG cable to
RRU controller.
Step 6: Tell OM the tilt recorded and check if the
installation is OK.
Step 7: Rollback if there is some problem of
configuration.

SBT Installation
Step 1: Install the RCU to be controlled
Step 2: Block the sector
Step 3: Disconnect the feeder and connect the SBT.
Step 4: Connect the feeder.
Step 5: Unblock the sector
Step 6: Test and check remotely the VSWR
Step 7: Connect the AISG cable to the RCU.
Step 8: Check with OM if the installation is OK.
Step 9: Rollback if there is some problem of
configuration.

RCU in chain:
Step 1: Install the RCU to be controlled
Step 2: Block the sector
Step 3: Disconnect the feeder and connect the SBT.
Step 4: Connect the feeder.
Step 5: Unblock the sector

Step 7: Connect the AISG cable to the RCU.
Step 8: Check with OM if the installation is OK.
