Gothic
Gothic is a style especially popular in Europe from the middle of the XII to the XVI
century, and in some areas preserved until the XVII—XVIII centuries. The style
originated in the Ile-de-France region in northern France
Main features:
- pointed arches
- stained glass windows
- pinacles - pointed spear—shaped
turrets
- verticalization - all parts of the
structure tend upwards
- rich decoration
Main representatives:
Gerhard von Rile - architect of the Cologne Cathedral. The model for Riel
was the Gothic Cathedral of Amiens
Main representatives:
Simone de Orsenigo designed the original design of the Milan Cathedral
Main representatives:

Today, the construction of houses in Gothic and pseudo-Gothic style is
not so widespread, but it is still ongoing. A modern house in Gothic
style can have beautiful architectural elements and stylish design of
rooms.
