Early Graeco-Roman Writings
Learning Intention: Students reach historical conclusions about Jesus from sources outside the New
Testament.
Success Criteria: I can summarise what early Graeco-Roman writings say about Jesus and other
historical events related to the New Testament.
Many people think that the only information we have about
Jesus comes from the Bible. This is actually not true. There are a
number of writers who mention Jesus and they are definitely
NOT followers of him. Often they get some of the details about
Jesus wrong – but that’s because they’re not particularly
interested in him. What they tell us is very interesting.
