Whisky Jack

What do you think the Whisky Jack flying over the valley symbolizes (represents)?
Once you have come up with an idea, research what it is an allusion to.
Personally, I believe that whisky jacks indicate that there will be a
significant change in the storyline, such as entrance and exit of the characters.
They first appeared just before the two strangers called Sith and Bab came to the
narrator and her friend, Katie and Ellen. The strangers added more conflicts,
spine-chilling and mysterious vibes to the story, attracting the readers.
The second or last appearance of whisky jack in the story, flying over the
valley, could be a sign of the exit of Bab and Sith characters as the two went
missing mysteriously. It can also be a cue to tell the readers that the story is
ending.
Moreover, according to Wikipedia, the name “Whisky Jack” is derived from
a mythological figure, Wisakedjak, one of the beings responsible for the great
flood which destroyed the world and created a new one. It also stated that it was
considered as an omen of good fortune and a warning of danger by ancient
people.
Therefore, the whisky jack flying over the valley means the improved
relationship of two friends by dealing with the issues between them after realizing
how they were close to death the previous night. Or negatively, it can be
representing how this hiking trip can remain as a nightmare for the two friends for
the rest of their life.
