This paper challenged me because it made me confront the totality of who I am. I chose to identify these identities because it was the ones we did in the beginning as a class on the spreadsheet. I also added a Farsi speaker in there because it is an important part of my life and it is the medium where I can translate ideologies and my iranian culture to the US. Every identity I included in this chart is a pillar of the foundation that makes me who I am; how I can be picked out from a population. I Personally, I feel comfortable bringing in any of my identities into my educational settings as an educator but maybe religion would be frowned upon by school in the U.S so I may not focus on that in public schools. In regards to what structures and or systems of power are linked with the realities I represent, I would say being white can be argued to have privilege. I also believe that being muslim can provide an avenue to be criticized and targetted. We have read a lot of the influence of capital and I hope that since I am employed, I help influence the correct sides that value rules and policies that benefit the public good.
