PURGANAN, Maria Michaella As a business student in the Lasallian community, it is essential to commit and adhere to the RVRCOB Code of Ethics and the Shared Covenant for Prosperity. We must constantly remind ourselves of our goals, duties, and obligations to society, especially to our co-workers, customers, the underprivileged, and mother nature. After reading the RVRCOB Code of Ethics, I realized that as we become business leaders, we are set to commit to our purpose of becoming good role models to everyone around us. Furthermore, once we are in a team, we will be accountable for ourselves and the people around our working environment. Thus, with the code of ethics, we must develop the right mindset to make sound and timely decisions that will benefit the community. On the other hand, the Shared Covenant for Prosperity teaches us to become more fair, selfless, and open-minded, especially during these trying times. The pandemic has consistently challenged several individuals emotionally, physically, and financially. While these events keep happening, we must remember that we are all just thriving and surviving human beings. With this, it does not hurt to be more considerate and compassionate towards the individuals we encounter (Drilon, 2020). In conclusion, pledging and committing is more than just reading these oaths; I will remember and go back to these to remind myself of my purpose as a business student and recognize my role in society (Dlscc - Code of Ethics, n.d.).
