Thermodynamics Problem: Feed Water Heater Calculation

advertisement
Problem 1 (3 points): The closed feed water heater of a regenerative Rankine cycle is to heat 7000
kPa feed water from 260°C to a saturated liquid exiting the mixing chamber. The turbine supplies
bleed steam at 6000 kPa and 320°C to this unit. This steam is condensed to a saturated liquid before
entering pump 2. Calculate the amount of bleed steam required to heat 5 kg of feed water in this unit.
