Dear Sir/Mdm,
I am writing in after some deep thoughts and consideration given the struggles of the past
events in which plagued my mind due to a student's actions from your university. I have
called in a month ago and last Tuesday again to garner details on how to submit a report to
NUS for investigation. I used to be in a relationship with a Life Science student (BSc Hons)
named Felicia Chu Shu Wen (E0203111) from May 2018. The first time I was sexually
assaulted by Ms Chu occurred on the 23rd of November 2018. She had come over to my
house as I had just booked out of camp (I was enlisting at the time) and we met seemingly
to unwind and watch movies together in my room. However, things got intimate and I told
her I was not in the mood to have sex as I was too tired throughout the whole week of army
activities as well as helping her complete basically most of her university assignments.
Everything I am disclosing is backed by evidence and will be attached accordingly. She then
went on to ignore my reluctance to consent to the act and said that the following week
would be her examination week and by having sex it could relieve her of the stresses on her
mind. I outright rejected her insistent requests and she retaliated by yanking down on my
cotton shorts which exposed my genitals for her to fondle and stimulate. As she tried to go
down on me, I pushed her head away and told her I was really tired and uncomfortable with
this and she continued the struggle and also said something that had truly traumatised me
at that point in time and made me feel like the problem was with me or my manhood. She
said " I do not know why you are like this ? most guys like it anyways what?'. I felt like I was
just a piece of meat and was taken aback by that statement. I felt that I was being selfish for
not putting out and she made me feel the issue was with me not giving into her needs. I
then stopped putting up a fight with her as I was hurt and traumatised by what she said and
her emotional manipulation. She continued to give me head and then straddled on top of
me to perform sexual intercourse. I was clearly not reciprocating nor displaying any signs of
enjoyment and she noticed later on. I was literally laid down on the bed, eyes wide open
staring directly at the ceiling fan spinning in what felt like an eternity as cold beads of sweat
trickled down my cheeks as my ex-girlfriend at the time was rocking on top of me in a
vigorous fashion. She realised that I looked out of place and tried to tell me that she loves
me and to which I did not respond to her as I felt that I was being raped and had just kept
quiet and when she told me that again, expecting a response, I just told her to hurry up and
finish so it would be all over. After the sexual assault, I had told her that I hope she does not
plan on doing such a thing without my consent ever again as I was unhappy and told her the
next time she does it, I may not be able to keep it a secret. She went onto ask me to clarify
or explain to her who I would inform and I said I was 'not sure, possibly my dad?' She then
placed her palm onto my shoulder and looked me deep into my eyes, questioning if I loved
her. I told her 'obviously, yes'. To which she responded, " could you promise me you would
not do such a thing? I definitely will not repeat it anyways but you cannot tell anyone else if
you truly love me" I agreed and we later had conversations on text message about this
horrific experience. The second incident occurred in January 2019 after we had a huge fight
this time again at my house as I had found out she had cheated on me. After I saw the
incriminating messages on her phone, I told her to leave my room as I never wanted to see
her again. She refused and argued and pleaded with me not to break up with her over this
event and entered a screaming match with me over the course of the next 10 minutes. It got
so loud to the point my mum who was in her room overhead us yelling and came in to check
if everything was alright. I told my mum to leave us for a while as I did not want her to
witness the ugly side of this relationship and after she had left, Felicia went to shut and lock
my room door. She immediately dashed to me and started to grab onto my forearm with
both hands, refusing to let go as she continued pleading for a second chance. I told her the
facts of the situation that I wanted her to go and she was trespassing and also holding onto
me against my will. She grabbed on even tighter and pulled away with her bodyweight in
denial of my decision to break up with her and it led to a scuffle where both of us were on
the bed. She was now hugging my torso as tightly as she could whilst I was trying to break
free and get away from this hold. I was telling her multiple times throughout that it felt
disgusting to be held by her in such a way especially since knowing she had desecrated or
dirtied the loyalty. I managed to eventually break away and mounted on top of her with my
arms restraining against hers. As I was on top, my bodyweight was pressing onto her chest
and she started coughing in reaction to me restraining her. I felt horrible and I immediately
let go and got off of her and consoled her. She then told me she was not in pain because of
the pressure but because I wanted to break up with her and as I was foolish and softhearted, I told her that I was willing to give it another chance. We then spoke about how we
could overcome our shortcomings and be better for each other as a couple. An hour went
by and she started to get physical with me. Obviously, I was not in the mood and told her
truthfully, " Felicia, I just found out you went behind my back with someone else and the
thought of you cheating on me is still resilient in my mind. My next thought is not going to
be sticking my genitals in you". She had then explained to me that it was to get us out of a
bad place as we had just fought and wanted us to be happy again. I told her no and she
begged with me a few more times until I gave in. These sexual assaults repeated itself a few
more times in 2019 from April - July and most recently in March 2020 when I had just flown
back from the UK for university. I was sleeping when she had sexually assaulted me without
consent and with numerous counts of me telling her to stop as I was tired and jetlagged
from the trip, she told me that it is fine because she can do all the work and although I never
physically struggled with her given the circumstances of the last time we had been in a
scuffle, I told her that I really did not want to do it right now and to which she replied it will
be fast and that it was something we both needed as we had not seen each other for the
longest time. Through it all, the thought of reporting her to the authorities had been on my
mind. First in 2018, but at the time, reporting rape or sexual assault for a male victim was
unheard of nor was it recognized by the law. I had also given her benefit of doubt that she
would change and not be so pressurising anymore. This was not the case and when I came
back from my first year of university in the UK in end march 2020 and it happened again, I
had contemplated it throughout the whole circuit-breaker period and first came out to my
close friends and relatives before finally admitting to my family that I had been taken
advantage of. This was after the fact that I had approached her family to come to a
mediation with me as I had something alarming to share as I could not contain the truth any
longer. As that mediation failed to become a reality and I was basically ignored by all
parties, I had no other choice but to report it in light of change and proper channels of
rehabilitation for her. I do not wish for her to be jailed but to go through counselling and
seek help. She has never truly acknowledged my frustrations, always gaslighted and made
me feel that it was a non-issue to be brought up in the first place. I have exhausted all other
means and this coming to VCU and the police was my last resort. Please refer to the
evidences I have provided and feel free to contact me through the contact I left behind via
the VCU. I have even more receipts of chats and evidences in my phone but it is held in
custody of the CID as I had reported the case weeks ago. Thank you for your time and I
really hope this will be treated seriously regardless of background and gender. Awaiting to
hear.
